Lowest Land Cruiser MPG

I love my new BF Goodrich Trail Terrain TAs. I have a full rack and side panel and I am still getting 19-22 around town or highway.

14.7 average after 1,900 miles. All around town driving 30-60 mph. Have a 2" lift, 34" tires, full roof rack and molle panels.

That sounds a little bit too low. This should be the GX550 MPG, not Land Cruiser

Well California is projected to have $8-$10/gallon gas price within the next two years. So if you have to pay $160 weekly just to keep LC spinning I bet there will be some that care.

With all jokes aside, I actually want to see a sick mod that drags the LC down to around 10-13 MPG. It seems that person hasn’t show up yet here.

Doubtful re: the jacked up Ca gas prices.
Current negotiations with the refinery owners will prove out positive.

I feel this. I remember stock…it at least filled up and the meter showed higher than 300. That was a nice feeling

12-13 MPG average here.

I just have the Westcott Designs roof rack, their sliders, and 35s (Toyo Open Country R/T Trail 35x12.5R17).

I stopped looking at MPGs on here as I just figure this is about what's expected for the 35" R/Ts, but I'd love for someone to tell me I'm wrong.

My wife drives the LC and she's averaging 23 mpg on mostly city roads. Recently installed 17" RRW's and 34x10.5 Toyo Open Country AT3's with no drop in mpg...

She drives "normal" in my opinion, not like a granny and not like a pissed off teenager. Always in Sport mode.

Well that rules out altitude because I am in CO too. No mods other than tires (275/60 r20 BFG KO3). Maybe the parking brake is stuck on...

I only have about 500 miles on mine. I put the TRD Pro rims on it (PTR56-35242-F1) and some BF Goodrich KO3's (275/70R18) and am getting around 15.5-16 MPG. I am surprised changing the wheel weight by about 11 lbs is having such an impact. But it looks fantastic.

I've only got a little over 700 miles on mine and I've noticed that mileage seems to be getting a little better the more the engine gets broken in. I'm getting a baseline mpg before I put on those exact same tires and start weeping over how much mileage I lose... And then post a low number in this thread apparently.

I'm still looking at upgrading wheels/tires this spring, but looking at keeping the weight roughly the same-ish as the stock 18's and OEM tires. I ran into another LC in a Snowmass parking lot last week. I chatted him up about his build. Westcott lift, looked like 35's on Methods, Molle panels, roof rack. Looked great, but he said he's lucky to touch 15 on the highway. He was complaining about the range on the small tank. I thought.. well.. I get 330-350 range now, and not un-happy with that. Going to 15 mpg for me would mean a lot more stops for gas with our small tank..

I asked Gemini about this and based upon the data it did some analysis and said that I should be getting 5-7% less MPG. I had the stock Geolander X-CV'S in 265/60R20 and the Toyota 20" wheels. This works out to a net change of 11 lbs each corner, and also changes in rolling resistance, greater moment of inertia, etc. I would be OK with 7% loss - but I'm shocked that my fuel economy is affected by 30%! (23MPG to 16 MPG). I'm seeing the numbers on my dash but am skeptical on how this can possibly be true given the big scheme of things (considering I'm moving a 6000 pound brick down the road, how can 11lbs each corner have such an impact).

11 lbs. per corner is not nothing... especially rotating weight.

As I told my wife who balked at $100 fill ups with her 4.8is X5 (which got 12 mpg with a tail wind)... 'You gotta pay to play!'

The mod to drop my mpg the most was deep snow. Give me 12-18” of deep, wet snow and I drop to 10 mpg with stock size blizzaks.

Just picked up a 2026 LC with the Premium package around Christmas. It has roof rails but no cross bars or roof rack. Stock Geolander tires with the 20" rims. No modifications at all.

I only have 500 miles on it, so it's still very much in the break-in period but I'm averaging 13mpg (sometimes less). Haven't had a chance to take it on a road trip yet, so it's been exclusively inner city driving so far. The commute to work is 4 miles with 23 stop lights and some up-and-down hills. It's been pretty cold all month, so that's not helping much either. Running it in Normal mode, not Eco.

Any hope for that MPG improving over time? Not that I care too much about the MPG, just finding it amusingly low so far

Maybe, probably will improve a little. Driver is the main factor in fuel efficiency, but your typical driving pattern (urban stop and go) is going to absolutely kill your efficiency.
