Hello everyone. Iโm new to the forum having come over from the dark side. Long time Jeep owner here with my most recent build being a 2024 Jeep Gladiator. I still own it and have built it up for Overlanding but have realized this vehicle, at least for me, is not a great long distance vehicle in terms of overall comfort. I will continue to use it on shorter trips but now Iโm looking to build my new LC 250 into a capable overlander with aspirations to explore the western U.S.
I need some suspension recommendations. The Toyota world is a bit different from the Jeep world. I will tow a 2300 lb. 15 foot adventure trailer to set up as a base camp when we travel out west. The vehicle will have to be comfortable enough to be a daily driver when not traveling.
I am thinking Iโll be adding a roof rack (open to recommendations) and perhaps a wedge style streamlined RTT (maybe an FSR Aspen lite).
Iโm pretty set on Nitto Recon Grapplers in size LT 275/70/18 unless someone can talk me out of it. I run 37โ Toyo RT trails which I love but want less of a hybrid tire on my LC.
Let me know what you all think.
Thanks in advance. I look forward to learning as much as I can on here.
I attached my Gladiator for the heck of it.
