My 5 Likes and 5 Dislikes after 25,000 Miles

I have a 1958 LC. I actually like the manual seats as they seem to fit with the rest of vehicle trim level. Of course it helps that my wife is tall and we both drive with the seat in the same position.

I completely agree with the lack of interior storage. Even the door pockets are pathetic.

While it should have a larger gas tank, I haven't found the tank mileage to be that big of a road trip issue - and I live someplace with many, many miles between stations. I have found that the fuel gauge is very pessimistic. So my biggest beef with the tank size is that it can be anxiety-inducing when traveling.

We went from a Ford Explorer Platinum with the Ecoboost V6 to the LC. The Explorer is a better road trip vehicle, mainly due to size, handling, and speed, plus slightly better fuel economy. However, the Explorer, in that trim, is absolutely awful on dirt trails.

Aside from that, we really like our LC, and I've had no issues doing a >700-mile day in it.

After a bit over 1-1/2 years on my 2024 1958 I am generally very pleased with the vehicle. Road comfort is just fine - last October we drove it a little over 5300 miles across country and back and it did just fine with regard to comfortable ride. Luggage space was just fine for my wife and I even with additional luggage for some fancy-dress meetings. Gas mileage and range was sufficient - we simply refueled a bit earlier than with some other vehicles that we have owned. Very capable in 4wd in various road and off road conditions in the flatlands and mountains - and we still have the OEM road tires on it (now with over 22000 miles and tread for more). We will probably put all terrain tires on it when we change tires next. Still exploring what tires to run next for use on and off road. We get lots of compliments on the appearance of the vehicle (it is Meteor Shower - very practical color, especially compared to white and black). My last vehicle was a 2015 5th Gen 4Runner, which I really enjoyed for the whole 150,000 miles I drove it, but I like the LC better. My LC dealer-installed extras were leather seats, roof rack and sidestep rails. I think the Katskin seats are wearing well and seem to work especially well with the seat heat. I like the manual seats and the Katskin which stays clean better than the cloth in my 4Runner. I am the main driver and fortunately my wife and I keep the seats with the same adjustment.

Even the cheapest rental car I can get these days has dual power seats with driver memory. It's an insult that a vehicle at this price doesn't include them on all trims.

Cool yeah I wouldn’t buy one then if you feel that way. Hope you find something you like!

More likes certainly than any minor dislikes...

Always with toyota the option to trade with decent value for your next ride.
