Method 304 rims have 108mm center bore .... and the LC 250 has 95.1mm ... so that means that you need hub center rings to fix your rims ....Hi, I posted some pics above of my rig with the new tires and rims on May 22. I have a very loud hum/vibration coming from what I believe is the front. The setup is 285/70-17 with the method 304 rims. I hope Discount Tire can fix it on Monday, if not they have a 30 day guarantee that I may need to take advantage of, I would rather not go that route. I did get their blessing putting them on so hopefully this can be fixed with a simple rebalance.
I have heard that the BFG KO3s are hard to balance, I will keep you updated. I will also, maybe, be looking for a different tire. I will reread the posts to see what people are recommending. Mine is a 1958, stock suspension, with the only mods being the Rhino Rack Recon and the tires/wheels.
I have those rims. They are 8" wide. Just ½" wider than the stock FE/LCLC Premium wheel. I ended up going with the Tacoma 17"x7.5" TRD Offroad wheel.Rim width please ??
Welcome to the asylum Grandpa rschoi_75.Grandpa patrol reporting for duty.
Michelin Defender LTX MS2's in 265/70R18 mounted on 18" Tacoma wheels powder coated in black.
These work great in so-cal. Perfect for shuttling family to/from the mall, but can also keep up on the desert trails around the area and in light snow when we head to the mountains.
How do you like the Nokians after living with them for a few months? Thinking about making the same change.Tomorrow I'll be getting new Nokian Outpost nAT 275/60/20r to replace those odd looking "upgraded" 20" rim, Yokohama Geolander x-cv that come stock. Had my LC for 2 weeks and every time I stepped outside my eyes just locked into the out of place tires, they just don't look like they should be on a LC. Maybe a Rav4 or something.
No issues at all - very common practice here in the USNo issues with this tire size (285) on stock rims with only 7.5" width ??
You are right i screwed the details up. I have MR703 Beadgrip. You opinion? They are blessed by Method and Discount Tire, so I hope I got that right.Method 304 rims have 108mm center bore .... and the LC 250 has 95.1mm ... so that means that you need hub center rings to fix your rims ....

Lots of us have wheels with larger center bores than Toyota 95.1mm and no hub rings, because we can use aftermarket "acorn" wheel lug nuts for centering with the proper torque.Method 304 rims have 108mm center bore .... and the LC 250 has 95.1mm ... so that means that you need hub center rings to fix your rims ....
Sounds good if you also take care of the right lug nuts for centering the wheels ....You are right i screwed the details up. I have MR703 Beadgrip. You opinion? They are blessed by Method and Discount Tire, so I hope I got that right.

Dealer put a 2" spacer on the front... on stock suspension ??
Looks good. I likely would have gone with these if they had 275/70/18 in standard load- I was looking for a little more ground clearance than with 265/70/18 tires. Maybe they'll make a SL version down the road.265/70/r18 bridgestone dueler AT ascent. Drove about 500 miles on them so far, really comfy and quiet ride. View attachment 39633
I am stuck between these and the Michelin Defender 2 LTX.265/70/r18 bridgestone dueler AT ascent. Drove about 500 miles on them so far, really comfy and quiet ride. View attachment 39633
I went with the bridgestones because it has a more aggressive off road look and are more capable than the stock tires, while still being light weight.I am stuck between these and the Michelin Defender 2 LTX.
3peak mountain snowflake rating is what I like about the Bridgestones. For some reason, the Michelin Defenders 2 LTX don’t have that rating.I went with the bridgestones because it has a more aggressive off road look and are more capable than the stock tires, while still being light weight.
