Land Cruiser 250 First Edition - Sunroof Leak?!

Hello, everyone,
I have a Toyota Land Cruiser 250 with a sunroof that I received on October 1, 2025. It has rained a lot since then, but on April 2, 2026, at 10 158 km, water leaked through the roof.
In Bulgaria, Toyota dealers are just as incompetent—they receive recommendations from the manufacturer on what to do, but once they follow them, the problem persists, and they have to try again. Sometimes a service center manages to fix the problem—other service centers in the regions don’t receive the information, so each one has to figure it out on their own using the customer’s car, which is under a 10-year warranty.
From a few phone calls, I learned that these successful solutions don’t require replacing the rubber seals or the sunroof. You just need to seal up some openings (hopefully not the drain holes). I don’t know if this recommendation from Toyota is public—so I can try to fix it myself. Until then, I’ll have to keep my car in a dry place on rainy days.

My Invincible 2025 [Euro 2.8D] also had the roof leak. Dealer thinks they have resolved by removing roof lining and applying sealant to “side panel-roof panel” joints.

However, haven’t had any persistent heavy rain since the fix was put in.

but I have doubts. Rest of the LC250 experience is

IIRC the Car Care Nut did a video of a different Toyota model that had a leak there.

I’m based in the UK - have any UK guys with the 2024 Land Cruiser 2.8 D-4D 204 had any water come through the front of the sunroof? Roof fully closed, of course!

Drove forward and had a bucket load of water fall on my lap today, and it’s dropping through the overhead control panel - disaster

Known fault - sealant not applied to side panel-roof panel gaps during manufacture.

Toyota fix is to remove headliner and apply sealant from within.

Toyota Guildford sorted mine. Hoping that this has resolved the issue.

I had mine fixed in Guildford as well. Apparently, Toyota has issued a bulletin explaining how it should be repaired. Please see attached.

I wrote about a problem with the sunroof on my Toyota. I began researching repair options, warranty services, and other possibilities. It turns out that at the service center, the manufacturer’s instructions aren’t always enough, and the technicians get creative with additional steps to fix the problem (I’m not familiar with these extra steps). I personally haven’t changed anything; it’s rained a few times, I’ve been through an automatic car wash—no leaks. I thought some curious friends might have looked under the hood and left it not closed properly, but the leak was only on the passenger side. I don’t know what else to say...

I lived there for a long time. I remember explaining to someone why convertibles were such miserable choices for Florida. It’s either dumping torrential rain or burning melanoma into your very soul.
