Same. I wish my FE did not have a sunroof.
It's really ironic that a lot of FE models in Germany seem to be delivered without sunroof (despite it being listed as INCLUDED in the price list) and people stepped back from their delivery when they found out. I suspect this is how I ultimately got mine since a dealer has been sitting on it for months and it's a FE without sunroof.
Lucky my FE delivered, used the pressure gun wash so far over 100 times. No leaks detected. Since this topic has been raised. Also being constantly doing preventive maintenance. And seals have been holding up well. And the channels greased up with Moly
Unforgiveable and total incompetence by dealer and Toyota. I greatly sympathize... (usa butchers queen's english dont forget) ...with you. Hopefully this works out soon for you.
Thank you. I am not seeing any actual leaks anywhere in the vehicle. I've experienced condensation in the mornings upon entry into the vehicle... It's there when I get in. It's mostly on the cabin-side of the sunroof/moonroof glass. Dealer told me that was normal, but sometimes it seems excessive. Toyota asked the dealer to order a new seal/strip. My concern is that the strip/seal is fine, and I would rather not have the dealer make matters worse by screwing up the install.
Bingo. I recently detected moisture coming into the headliner and even down to the passenger footwell from behind the glovebox. Quick inspection found there was a lot of debris in the area around the sunroof designed to collect water penetrating the seal (I park under a tree), with standing water in this space. The drains in the corners of this space were plugged with leaves/plant matter, preventing the water from draining out of the vehicle near the wheel wells, and instead overfilling into the headliner. Poor maintenance on my part may cause me issues down the road with mildew, but hoping I caught it fast enough that I’m ok. The fix to the issue was thoroughly cleaning out all of the debris and the drains themselves (rags, shop vac with small end attachments, with a blast of compressed air down the tubes to finish off the job). Even better than repair would have been preventative maintenance: keeping the seals clean to minimize water intrusion, and keeping the water collection area and the drains clean of debris that gets in when the sunroof is open.

Before spending much time with the dealer I’d first check everything is clean inside the sun roof housing, especially those corners where the drains are.
1) Does anyone know what # fishing line is big enough to run down the drain tubes to keep them clean?
2) are there any Toyota recommended products for the sunroof seals to keep them soft and pliant.

Love my FE and would not have bought it without a sunroof. I won’t own any car without one. That said, I also don’t ride motorcycles that aren’t at least 150 hp and want to rip your head off.
What he said. Not a fan of sun roofs. Just adds weight in the worst location possible.
Long but interesting. Huge amount of grief to repair these sunroofs when they seize from lack of use. I'm not an advocate, but have one on the 250, so will open it occasionally to clean and lightly lube what is accessible, especially the drains. I likely won't use it, but that one future time that you lend it to a family member or whoever, and they open the roof......
This was the reason I wouldn't consider a Premium trim... I never, ever use sunroofs and I've also had them leak in the past. Wish Toyota would allow custom builds like other manufacturers do.
i am also based in the UK and i have experienced the same problem, Toyota were unable to fix it at the first attempt, had to return the vehile to them, its now been wiith them for 3 weeks.
Has anyone else experienced this and what is the solution

Totally new replacement seal around the sunroof is/was needed for mine (I've been told that it was a manufacture issue, of course) - so whoever gets unlucky will have to go through all of this...you and I won't be the only people in the UK, that's for sure
The dealership follows Toyota GB/HQ instructions, but it's a case of removing sunroof completely, fitting new seal, re-fitting sunroof etc
Touch wood, mine has been fixed...for now. I've decided to not open up the sunroof for the foreseeable as I cannot be arsed for it to happen again
