Another long term GP user here. I still haven’t learnt to apply it when I get a new vehicle. I always have to wait until the first heavy frost.
Quick update. Toyota Guildford [UK] called Thursday - they have had three LC250 in with leaking sunroofs “so they know how to fix them”. Booked for next Wednesday.
Fingers crossed because despite my efforts the roof still leaks after heavy rain.

Hi guys, another leaking issue here. Got my LC250 in August 2025 brand new. In one instance 2 months ago I thought I noticed the roof was moist, which I thought it was strange but did not panick. However these couple of days has been pouring and there you go - last night we realised it was wet all over the flaps (will attach 2 photos and video if the forum allows me). Today..........Today my friends water started pouring from the overhead compartment where the control buttons for the sunroof are, as well as from the lights...Directly dripping water.....Bad thing I am from Bulgaria, where I do not know how the dealer will deal with the issue. Is it a good idea to drive directly all the way from Bulgaria to Toyota Guildford [UK]

I appreciate the support! I went to Sofia, Bulgaria yesterday and the dealership confessed that there is a ''campaign'' (they said) by Toyota of a known issue - there were some sort of holes somewhere (did not specify where, just showed me some papers but photos were too small to understand), so they closed the holes with silicon and that that the issue is fixed. It hasnt been raining since them for me to see if the issue has been really resolved, but will update.
Like sunroofs on you house. These options do require preventive maintenance. Think about leaves and tree fallout on your home gutters and leaders. If the water has no place to run off. The water is coming in...

Yes I do understand that totally, but the car was bought brand new 5 months ago, it is being washed every week, being taken care of more than I take care of myself basically haha. Nothing was clogged, the Toyota dealer in Bulgaria confirmed the issue was on their side, some kind of defect.
Same here. My daughter had a 2014 Rav 4 and while driving down the interstate a night the sunroof just exploded! Completely shatered.
Mmmmm… doesn’t appear to have made any difference. Collected car, drove home in rain and traffic. Leaks appeared through down lighter centre roof console after ten minutes of driving.Will report back tomorrow after the warranty work. Bulgaria a long way to come

same Experience here. Hard to imagine anyone taking better care of a car yet the roof leaks like a sieve after heavy rain [which in South East England we have had more than our fill-of over the last 40 days]
This makes it sound like they focused on the seal and the likely culprit is the drain functionality.
Hope I’m wrong but feels like a design error to me. Getting dealers to retrospectively seal panel gaps with sealant hardly cutting edge. The f%2#$@& things are assembled by robots fgs.

Back when the 1st LC's were stuck in the port and the early purchase people (from the US) were awaiting "Dealer delivery" and chomping at the bit, If I remember correctly, one of the issues were incorrectly installed drain tubes that required the headliner to be removed and/or partially removed and verified the tubes weren't crushed or twisted or something to that affect.
That happened to my daughter‘s 2012 Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited. Which is why I had Miss Daisy’s sunroof tinted, so the tint would help minimize glass flying everywhere should it happen to Miss Daisy’s sunroof.
I think the problem was a defective clamp that joined the two drain tubes together.
The fix from Toyota UK - in accordance with their TSB - involves removing the headliner and applying sealant to the roof/side-panels.Hope I’m wrong but feels like a design error to me. The lack of a sunroof was a plus for me when I was 1958 shopping. I almost ended up with one but when I asked the dealer about it he explained that it was an aftermarket sunroof on the 1958 sitting in their showroom. I noped out of there, to the confusion of the salesman and my wife.
Ideal LC250 has no sunroof, no fridge, no ADAS & roof bars … and the diesel hilux engine without the hybrid battery.
I’ll also have the seven seats.. with no electric motors… KO2/3’s obvs.

I have a Toyota Land Cruiser 250 with a sunroof that I received on October 1, 2025. It has rained a lot since then, but on April 2, 2026, at 10 158 km, water leaked through the roof.
In Bulgaria, Toyota dealers are just as incompetent—they receive recommendations from the manufacturer on what to do, but once they follow them, the problem persists, and they have to try again. Sometimes a service center manages to fix the problem—other service centers in the regions don’t receive the information, so each one has to figure it out on their own using the customer’s car, which is under a 10-year warranty.
From a few phone calls, I learned that these successful solutions don’t require replacing the rubber seals or the sunroof. You just need to seal up some openings (hopefully not the drain holes). I don’t know if this recommendation from Toyota is public—so I can try to fix it myself. Until then, I’ll have to keep my car in a dry place on rainy days.
