How to turn off climate control for remote start?

Every time i remote start, the climate control turns on, and it turns on to the last used setting. However, it turns on even if i was not using the climate control when i was driving the vehicle last.

I cannot find the settings in the vehicle menus and ive turned off the setting the in the toyota app.

how can i stop this. Id rather have the car turn on to warm itself up first.

Unfortunately this is just how it works, as far as I can tell. If you remote start from the app it will start based on whatever you have set in the climate settings of the app - and as you have noticed there isn’t an “off” option.

If you disable the custom climate option in the app, then make sure you turn off the hvac system before turning off your vehicle, it should not turn the hvac back on when you next remote start.
