Google Maps on HUD

Any updates or solves on this issue? I did recently upgrade to the iphone17 so curious if that device and software upgrade is the cause for lack of HUD display for google maps - which was working with my previous device. To my knowledge, phone is fully updated. Annoying!

Google Maps App: This is often the first place the fix comes from. Even if your phone is up-to-date, check the App Store specifically for the Google Maps app. An update may have been released recently that specifically addresses CarPlay HUD issues.

Also you may try these steps. My work mate had the similar issues and then he was told by the service engr.
"you can initiate a hard reset of the infotainment system—including Apple CarPlay—by pressing and holding the radio volume knob for approximately 30 seconds" .

Still an issue for me - Asked dealer and they shrugged it off during my last 15K appointment. The entire cluster and gauge selection options are so poorly laid out and non intuitive.

Anecdotally, on Carplay- Google Maps shows turn by turn on HUD for me, and Apple Maps shows up turn by turn for my wife.

Im looking back through other threads on this same topic and caught a note about HUD "turn by turn" only working in non "eco" drive modes...not sure if there is any truth to that. Haven't had a chance to get out an try that

I finally got it to work! I don’t know if this has already been mentioned, but along with what others have said, you need to also have turn by turn TBT pop up notifications toggled on in order for the directions to show up on the hud.

I had disabled all pop ups on day one, which is why I never saw the hud navigation.

Which setting exactly? I checked and I have the TBT toggled on in the instrument cluster under Meter Settings > Pop-Up Display but I'm still not getting the directions on my HUD.
