With all the talk about some 1958’s having it I was sure hoping the wiring was there hidden behind something….. Darn

Nope - 1958, no heated mirrors
No heated side mirrors in my 2025 build 1958 either. Which is stupid.
Did anybody ever make any progress on modding a 1958 to have the heated side mirrors? These past few mornings it's been a (small) pain to get in the car and to have to get back out and wipe down the mirrors, and I'd like to be able to avoid it altogether once it's snow and ice season.

There is a reason the 1958 trim is so much cheaper than the base / “Land Cruiser” trim, and it seems owners are realizing why.

There are a number of discussions on that topic with varying reasons (climate controls, MPG, etc.).
Everybody is welcome to provide opinions/input. The thing is, with the tariffs we can expect a bit of smoke & mirrors/unbundling from manufacturers. Do I recall the SDM was previously included with the LC trim, or was it just among the features of the Premium Pkg?
You’re right, SDM was originally a standard/non-deletable feature on the Base and FE trims, but then partway through 2025 made it an option. I think I saw it was back to being standard for 2026 models?
I’m not taking shots at you or anyone else in the thread. I’m also not trying to stir any debate. For me personally, I didn’t want a V6 Lexus so I didn’t purchase one. I’m not sure exactly what trucks with the premium package are going for lately (I’m no longer in the market), but things like heated mirrors (amongst many others) were the reason it was worth it to me to pay a premium (pun unintended) over other trims. I understand the additional price wasn’t worth it for others, and so they went with a 1958. Tradeoffs, that’s all. Nothing to get hostile over I think.

My 2 cents... The higher trims feel all hat and no cowboy. I go off-road because it's fun. It is fun because it can be a challenge. I prefer a spotter to a camera, a good line to a massive tire and lift. I like the geometry of getting through an obstacle. If it was about making it simple, we...

Nice, another guy who thinks he’s dunking on people who bought a 58. Are they talking about adding heated mirrors in the thread? Because that’s the point of this thread.
What is it about my post that bunched up all these panties? Saying it’s stupid that the 58 doesn’t have them? It is stupid. They put a heated wiper on it and heated seats and steering wheel but not the giant mirrors.

I don’t care if I can’t see via my 1958’s side mirrors. I just rely heavily on RCTA and BSM, and I’ve learned that my turn signal is less a signal and more a declaration of what I am doing. Sometimes I turn it on before I start changing lanes…
The horse is dead. 1958s have outside temp mirrors. We can regret it, sink money into it, or live with it. LC guys are going to say, well, what they’ve all said up there ^^. In the end, I don’t give two craps what they think, so why the hell would you? Then again, I did buy a $85k Toyota for the wife… maybe I should start snobbing on those SR5s?
All on fun, because I too know that my opinions are akin to rectal orifices.
