Can You Even Get an LC Today?

I actually got mine 4,500 off msrp dec 2024 for a 2025 model heritage blue/grey with java PP. I think I could have played hardball and gotten 500 more if i had tried. But lately when i look at the same dealerships that were offerening discounts they are actually going MSRP or more. So either the demand is high or toyota is making less or something else
You are a liar, a thief, and a closet Range Rover lover.... :p

The market has changed significantly as the new model has continued to be praised for its performance and reliability. When it was first introduced, the world was skeptical of what the new drivetrain was capable of and how it could and does handle such a heavy and large SUV.

Just checked mine on Carvana. It's a 2026 and I have 18,000 miles on it, I paid MSRP in February which was $60k. Not bad!

My SWAG is that private sale you’d get $60k all day if you’re near a large metro area. Plenty of people willing to pay above MSRP to not wait.

+1
I had to pay full MSRP for 2025 LC PP and there were only 2 that popped up in southeast as in transit and unsold. At least i didnt have to pay a market adjustment markup. That's what i tell myself so i can sleep at night after being hosed.
In the same boat now with defenders. They wont budge on desirable configurations because theyre getting bent over with tarriffs and theyre selling fast. Wah!

I'm just going to keep piling on the miles and wait for Carvana to rise to within $1k of MSRP and then I'll probably bail out of it. I hate dealing with people, Carvana makes it easy.

Smart way if you want out and don’t want deal. Keep it stock! Do you know what you’re going to move to?

I want a Mercedes Benz G550

I had previously a Land Rover Defender which I loved, but I don't believe in buying the same car twice.
Fun choice! I’d love to do a classic safari-style overlanding build on a 2014-15 ish G-Klass.

Sorry, typo. I meant to say we hate you now.
There are literally three vehicles it is acceptable to leave your 250 for and still maintain your standing in this forum:

1) Any other Land Cruiser
2) G-Wag
3) Grenadier

That’s my opinion, and to me that matters a lot

there used to be big discounts upto 6K about 6 months ago, but toyota jumped a model by going 2025 to 2027, so i believe now the discounts are few and less amount
I got one of them rare 2026 models, y'all can have it for 20K over MSRP!

This is interesting, as other threads allude to discounts up to $4K or even a bit more. I always wonder though if such posts are clouded by low ball offers on trades or dealer add-ons. Our dealer offers free oil-changes and state inspections for life, which I know is an inducement to keep you coming in for extra added services, but it does add some value. The Lexus dealer was so obnoxious with a leave a deposit attitude that I simply refuse to deal with the guy.
Welcome to the asylum.

Yea. I refuse to do business with dealers like that.

What about a Sequoia?

The best buying strategy is always buying end of month or end of Dec for dealers looking to make thier goals for meeting objective sales numbers set by manufacturers. Looks like you scored a good timing move....

I picked up a 2027 base model (non-premium) one month ago and paid approx $3.5k below MSRP. Florida dealers make that up with high doc fees. It did take a bit of work to get the price down, especially after their initial offer came in basically $500 below sticker, but I have had much tougher negotiations in the past. I did walk out of the dealership after the initial quote and was called by the Sales Manager within minutes to get me closer to the number I asked for. I think dealers are nervous about having trucks in inventory given the situation with gas prices.

There was some inventory on dealer lots when I was searching but typically just 1-2 units at each location. This is in South Florida, which is a high volume Toyota market and always seems to have a decent number of LCs. There are 33 currently showing online within 50 miles of my ZIP code, but many of them are not yet delivered. My guess is that the ability to get an LC at a discount is highly market dependent.

if you're not picky about colour and could settle for a base spec with several mandatory options at a $10K CAD markup, you can get one reasonably quick. There's also a handful of demo vehicles with mandatory dealer add-ons that dealers would happily sell at a used car interest rate as well.

Demand has always been high, even when we purchased I put down a deposit weeks in advance and had to drive 600-miles away for pickup.

At the local Toyota dealer, there is only one Land Cruiser 250 on the lot, a 2026, highly optioned, only has 1376 miles, dark gray (Underground?), for 79K. The pricing and the mileage seem off to me. Did’t want to talk to a salesman, so not sure what the story/bs is on it. This dealership is pretty notorious for their pricing and business practices for new car sales.

At another Toyota dealer about 45 minutes away, I regularly go through their lot and have not seen a new 250 on their lot for at least the last 6 months.

My neighbor recently purchased a new Sequoia Platinum. He traded in his 2020 LC 200

the underground was likely driven by the dealership owner for awhile.
It will bring $79k. They likely certified it to make it even more appealing. Which is actually is appealing.
