Brake recall front

It's not that bad some some, like you, but really bad for others.
Mine is really loud, but "only" happens backing out of the garage the first time each day. Occasionally when backing when wheeling if it's dusty or wet.
It bothers me, but I also have kind of learned to mitigate it with brake modulation as I back out.
My wife says she can hear it super loud from inside the house when it happens and thinks getting it fixed it should be a higher priority.
I'll get it fixed when I get a chance or go to the dealer for something else. Dealer is an hour away, so I'm not motivated enough yet.

Honest question needs honest answer .
How terrible the front brake noise happened to you (all) ? How many times or every single time you backup / reverse your LC ?
My honest answer: occurred 3-4 times during 16 months owned it can be moisture things after car wash or rainy day or light brake pedal…I just ignored it. I think it’s “normal”

Anyway,….blaming/whinning Toyota to have brand new brake pads —-> “Probably” . What’s about you ?
Dealers love to do it if they can so that they make $$$ through Toyota

I'm not really sure what you are trying to say with this post. The brake noise isn't a huge issue for me , but I think it should not be unrealistic to expect any new car, whether it is $30K or $70K, to have brakes that don't squeak. As far as blaming goes, who else should we blame? I also think that a 40 week wait to fix a known issue is unacceptable.

I don’t mean any bad thing. Just want to know how terrible noise / squeak is (crazy loud or just a little) and how often it happened ( 1 for awhile or every single time or day )

I would be surprised if it's not worse in some areas simply due to climate. For example, humidity could play a role and folks in the south east have it worse than those in drier climates. I'm not saying that humidity IS the cause, that was just hypothetical.

I didn't realize I had the problem because I back into my driveway 99% of the time so when I leave the first time every day, I'm pulling forward and not going in reverse. It wasn't until I stayed at my parent home a few nights and was backing out of their long driveway that I finally figured out what everyone was complaining about. I have an appointment next week to get mine replaced.

Took my 1958 in yesterday, like the fifth time with no resolution from Toyota dealer or corporate Customer Support. Mine usually happens on first drive and is worse with humidity or rain. Have had lots of rain in Phoenix and the squealing in reverse was so screeching it caused my wife and neighbors to put their fingers in their ears. Asked about the TSB; he pulled it up online (mentioning the Sept 5, 2025 TSB date seemed to help make it real for the service guy). They were quickly able to duplicate the issue and have ordered parts; apparently parts are still rare and Toyota corporate reviews each case manually. Parts are supposed to be here within a month. Last time I was in (October), I didn't know about the TSB and the service manager said Toyota wouldn't do anything unless it was a daily occurrence documented by the service tech; this guy was much more helpful, so be persistent. If you have this issue, continue to fight to get it fixed. My 2024 $60K vehicle shouldn't sound like a salvaged 1987 Buick LeSabre.

Love the vehicle, but the squealing is maddening. Will see how it works. BTW, don't guess where the noise is coming from...it sounded like rear to me originally, and the service manager said that the TSB is only for front, so they wouldn't even check the front since I mentioned rear. FWIW, when the runner parked the car for me at the dealer, with the SM there, it squealed horribly in reverse, so hopefully the SM will have some sympathy for others who have the same issue.

Got a call from Dealer several weeks ago, said parts were in for another vehicle that hadn't shown up for the service, would be mine if I got it in the next day. They installed pads and shims, took about two hours. Problem is resolved. No further noise at all (knock wood). So much better than the shriek. Highly recommend getting this resolved as quickly as possible once you hear the shriek. Loving the truck again. Silence is golden!

Got a call from Dealer several weeks ago, said parts were in for another vehicle that hadn't shown up for the service, would be mine if I got it in the next day. They installed pads and shims, took about two hours. Problem is resolved. No further noise at all (knock wood). So much better than the shriek. Big Two is playing games with me, where did you get yours done? I provided the original TSB back in July and they claim the parts are still on back order. I called Toyota and they had the same service department call me and give me the same story. I think the service advisor forgot about it back in July, never ordered the parts back then or every time I’ve asked about it since then, and NOW the parts are on back order because there are so many that need to be corrected. The service manager told me not to believe you guys on the internet who claim to have had yours taken care of.

I had the brake TSB done about 2-3 months ago and it seemed to fix the issue but in the last 2-3 weeks I have heard a squeal a few times when I am backing up, but not near as loud as before the TSB.

Had mine done at Camelback, but I do think it was mostly luck and timing to happen so quickly. That and I was becoming a squeaky wheel.

I didn't think the TSB came out until September, so you had more info than me back in July.....Every time I took it in they patted me on the head and said it wasn't a thing (yet) with Land Cruisers, just essentially everything else on the TNGA platform, but they'd let me know if and when something changed. To be fair, I couldn't get it to duplicate at the dealer....it was intermittent and usually only happened first thing in the morning. However, after rain, it got much worse, and it was squealing like a pig when I took it in the last time, so identification was a breeze. It's way better now!!! Hoping it doesn't recur.
