You can see the Model Info through the software update selection IIRC. No USB needed, it's displayed on the screen. Are you all downloading this info via USB? If so, where is the USB port?

There are three USB-C ports. Two are for charging only. The third one should work as a regular USB port, but you may need an adapter for your connector. You can probably use a USB-C flash drive or a regular USB 2 Flash drive with an adapter. Whichever one you use, just make sure it’s formatted in accordance with the manual for compatibility.I wondered the same thing as I can only find USB-C ports in my LC.
Did you check your software version before you took it in? They may have updated it while you were there.Yesterday, I had my 5K oil change done at the dealership due to the cold weather.......Ouch! When I picked it up, the sidebar had disappeared and now I'm wondering if it has anything to do with sequence of the LC being started and ran without connecting to my iPhone/carplay. I have to run some errands today and I'll play around to see if it'll come back.
You are correct......... I already knew that. You may already know this, but the sidebar in question shows the Toyota menu items. Example - it shows the music symbol (♫) that one would select to change to a different music source, such as the radio.
We’re not talking about the vertical sidebar within CarPlay that shows a few of your most-recently used Apps. Everyone should have that.

+1. My SAM ID is different but everything else is the same and no sidebar. From a 1958 purchased in early August:
Part no: 8614060Q60
SAM ID: CBAAAPLJAZ
SCOMO ID: 21TNENAC0012HU0000
Version: 1720
My UI indicates “no updates available” but I’ve never bothered to set up an online account or download an update by computer. I do not have the Toyota UI sidebar when CarPlay is displayed
You wont see that message until the USB flash drive is installed and recognized+1. My SAM ID is different but everything else is the same and no sidebar.
I was going to follow the instructions from this site but I dont remember seeing an Output info to USB memory option.

The vehicle may not have a USB-A port, might need a converter like the one below:I am unable to find the USB-A port to insert my thumb drive into, do you have any idea where that port is located?
To this question I can report that it appears that in the latest LC’s coming off the production line have this issue resolved.Any update on this? Has anyone been able to update to a new software version to add the Toyota sidebar. It really is a pain when using Sirius through the radio unit while using car play.
