48v battery malfunction leading to the car to die. 1 week old.

Other than the message on the dash, what other symptoms are you seeing? Limp mode? Is the 12 still charging/holding the charge?

Have they advised you not to keep driving the vehicle?

I don’t get why they’re pushing you on someone else because if this isn’t a few isolated instances, this is going to be a major thing for a car that’s selling 10s of thousands units per year and outselling the corolla!
Hi mate, I had error code came up to my dash twice in Nov and Jan, showing 48v malfunction contact dealer, and it disappeared when I restarted the car. The outcome is I have to replace my 48v motor but need to wait for 1-2 months, and they said it's not a big issue which I do not agree. Interestingly, when I try to lodge a comliant for this, it seems they don't give a shit and try to push me to the local dealer. But dealer won't help anything if this is a Toyota quality/design flaw in Australia.

Here is their reply with no solution at all:

Hello folks, interesting topic today.

I recently purchased a new Landcruiser Prado 250 in December. After a week of driving, I noticed a 48V malfunction icon when I arrived for a bonnet protector. The agent was present to see it. Although I cannot yet determine its reliability, I have been advised that parts will need to be replaced. The car has only traveled 550km, and the hybrid system has already failed. According to the agent. This part will take upto 6 weeks to come. The outcome I got from Toyota is - it is what it is. I’m still waiting on seeing what is possible. I opts out to get another car and potential upgrade. Quite sad as I have purchased 2 x lc250
Hi , I have recently posted on this issue as I'm halfway across Australia and have had this malfunction message twice as of today. I am just wondering what your experience was in terms of continuing to drive the vehicle. I have to be in central NSW by Friday. It is nerve wracking but I have just had to keep driving. Any help greatly appreciated.
