Hello, I am an LC owner living in Costa Rica. I drive a 2012 LC76, which I love. We have a second family vehicle that I need to retire due to wear and tear, we live in Guanacaste where the roads are notoriously terrible. I want to buy the new GS300 Sport. I have two options: 1) factory stock model from the dealer 2) a 2024 GS300 imported from Dubai that has had various modifications. These are:
My internal debate is about the merits of a relatively new high end 4x4 like the GR300 Sport and what effect these mods have on what is otherwise a very capable and powerful factory build. Also very tech heavy. I.e., Adaptive Variable Suspension and E-KDSS are sophisticated systems, that are intended to work seamlessly with the Drive Mode Selector and Multi Terrain Select(?). When you replace the suspension you are taking out important parts of this technology; and does this result in an overall improvement, or is it a recipe for headaches. Does E-KDSS work effectively with 3" of lifted suspension?
Unfortunately, if you want a bull bar and winch (which gets used frequently) you have to modify and tune the suspension to accommodate.
I'd be interested to hear from any other GR300 Sport owners especially if they have done modifications to theirs, and what their experience has been.
