With this ONE simple trick that Toyota did not want me to KNOW... I increased my MPG to over 30mpg, reduced noise, and I am now better looking!
In all seriousness.. it does seem to take the edge off the wind noise at speeds over ~60mph. Now, if we could figure out a cure for the mirror generated wind noise for $24!

Just took a drive and there is a noticeable difference, but not a total game changer. I would buy again.
There was a post on this forum suggesting Toyota designed mirrors to be folded at highway speeds lol.
Not sure the connection here? China and Japan are very much NOT the same. And they are very much NOT friends/allies.
Japan is a long time US ally, and makes WONDERFUL vehicles and various other products as well. I for one am happy to buy Japanese products, and generally look to AVOID buying Chinese wherever it is possible.
In fact we own 3 vehicles, and every single one is Japanese made (two Toyotas, one Lexus). The two previous vehicles I owned before these 3 were also Japanese made (1 Toyota, 1 Lexus).
I've folded mine, it makes a difference, but it is still loud'ish. The flat front windshield isn't helping things either. I just can't drive around, even on the Interstate without having side mirrors.
I'm sure some smart guy could computer model the vehicle and 3-D print all sorts of fins and nubs, include a diagram on where to stick them, down to the millimeter.
. Would look ridiculous though.
I've considered trying these on the inner surface of the side mirror body, but they're always out of stock. You should have driven your Cruiser off the lot with that already installed. Mine came with that so you shouldn't have to buy that - Get Toyota to do that for free since it was supposed to be there already.
No, this is an additional piece in addition to the factory installed seals. This is an additional aftermarket piece.

My understanding in the original design is that the slot was purposefully designed to be the conduit for rain water, so filling it out with a rubber piece actually break the original design. I live in a dry area so it is useless for me plus it makes noises so I filled it.
I don’t think this is an oversight that Toyota will care enough to fill it after the assembly in their factory.
Yours may have had those strips installed, but they did not come from the factory. Most probably installed by the dealer.

So apparently I lost the fight. The gap fillers on either side of the windshield which I drove my FE Cruiser off the lot with were not replaced when my windshield was replaced and my effort to fix that has been shot down. Glass America (who Toyota's Glass Replacement Plan had me use) insists they were never there even though I have photographic proof they were and refuses to correct the problem. So I have to buy the Amazon ones I guess. My suggestion to anyone getting the gap fillers would be to remove the side molding, stick the gap fillers to the backside of the molding, and clip the molding back on. That way, when you get your windshield replaced they will be attached to the molding and not the glass and will hopefully still be there after the glass replacement. There is no need to remove anything! Dry fit the rubbers strips to make sure you have the correct sides. Take some isopropyl alcohol and clean the windshield by the edges, making sure to include under the trim. (I used eye glasses cleaning towelettes).
Pull the red tape a few inches and fold 90 degrees to the side, press the trim in place (not down towards the glass) but sideways under the OEM trim piece. Don't worry about the skinny end not tucking in all the way. As you start pulling the red tape, hook your finger nails under the OEM trim (between the new rubber and the hard plastic) and gently pull to relieve the friction while pulling the red tape, as you get to the skinny end (top), push the rubber into proper alignment and hold in place, while pulling the remainder of the red tape off. Press firmly downwards towards the windshield to seat the adhesive.

i think toyota changes the design of the plastics on the side of windshield, on mine model 26 there is very little gap between the glass and the plastic part and in one location only there is a larger gap, also when I took mine out the mechanism of removing them was just to pull out and there are tabs to click and I verified that twice to confirm no tabs to click/press to release.. who else can confirm in model 2026 there is not enough space to insert this rubber part and also that I do not notice loud wind noise coming from the windshield at different speeds !! maybe toyota fixes that issue with model 26?
If that's the case, I wonder if the 2026 side pieces would fit on the 2024 and then I wouldn't need to worry about gap fillers ever again!
These do help. The concave design of the edge is a bit of a wind trap. You may want to top off the ends to get a complete fit, and also prevent wind shear flapping.
