Windshield Seal Tape

ive been using this for almost 2 months - if you clean the glass well with isopropyl alcohol the provided double sided tape sticks well and doesnt come loose for me

That's pretty slick, whatever crappy tape they probably use would be my concern. I never noticed that gap 🤣.

I know on one of the FB groups, an owner stated that her husband was an HVAC guy and used foam to deaden the wind noise. The probably is that she never stated where he put it and never responded. I thought she was speaking about under the glossy black squares on the A pillar.

Cleaning the glass and pressing down hard* is going to be key here. Along with hitting it with 303 or Gummi Pfleg every so often.
*I did a weather seal kit on the tailgate of my truck and instructions said to put 25lbs of pressure on it. A lot of people fail at weatherstripping because they just throw the stuff on and call it a day, you do have to press hard. If it isn't 3M tape, I'm skeptical. Even my local alarm company removes the tape on the sensors and replaces it with 3M.

I'm going to give this stuff a shot.

the included tape is 3m vhb tape. adhesion issues are related to a dirty surface or improper installation. you do need to test fit first and you will realize the bottom tucks down a few inches. when done correctly the top is flush and contoured to the trim. looks oem and well worth the 25 dollars.

I like this idea, but I am very skeptical that the tape will stay in place. We have very hot summers and those rubber pieces will be exposed to very harsh elements...

If the tape is quality, the prep is done properly ( would even clay or magic eraser, then alcohol), and the install is done properly, I wouldn't think it would be an issue for a long, long time.

Anyway, I'll bite, it's only $25, doesn't require premium fuel, and it should give three extra horsepower plus .0001 MPG increase.

I'll have to give this a shot. I had no idea the gap in the windshield trim was that significant.

Honestly popped on this thread because I thought people might be referring to the stone-collector brow ridge just above the windshield.

The amount of dirt and bugs it collects annoys me. I'm also concerned it increases the likelihood of chips and dings in that area.

I was thinking about using some Permatex® Black Silicone Adhesive Sealant to fill the gap similar to how you would seal a tub or shower.

Was skeptical but put to test today in Dallas on tollway less noise I felt. Easy to install, cheap and just need to see how long will stay on with car washes. My Toyo AT3 barley hum and impressed with how quiet this LC is.

Quick, easy and cheap, does make for a somewhat quieter ride on the highway. From handling them I imagine they'll last for about a year before needing to be replaced, not a big deal at $25 a set. I'd note that without that channel there to collect all the windshield schmutz you get some spillover onto the driver and passenger side windows (at least I am) that's not otherwise there. Not a huge bother now but we'll see what winter driving is like. Might coax me into getting window visors though I imagine that will probably just add back more wind noise into the system
