Window tinting for driver and passenger front seats side windows - is it a good idea?

I went with 30% and I have low visibility checking for pedestrians when turning at night. I roll the window down if I can’t see well enough.

In daylight hours, 30% is totally fine

From the factory second row seats back are tinted/privacy screened but they aren’t UV protected. I will be getting mine done all round.

I did legal tint which is 24% but probably around 20%. You can still see out of it at night and for me it is perfect.. I matched another vehicle I own front windows to the factory rear windows tint and it was so dark at night you couldn't see out and caused my son to sideswipe a tesla. I took a heat gun to the tint and pulled it off next day.
You might have to use a single edge razor blade, like what is used to scrape paint off of glass..

It works best if you use a tablespoon of Joy dishsoap in a one quart spray bottle while yo are doing it. Use towels to catch all the water and debris.

DO NOT do this on a piece of glass that has those little electric defrost strips on it. It is much more difficult to get it off of that glass. You might try using one of those green scotch-brite pads, replacing them when needed.

I added 50% tint to the factory ‘tinted’ glass. Huge difference! In heat gain. Did 30% on the front doors and sunroof. Clear on the windshield.

You might want 50% for the front side windows..

Got mine tinted to the legal limit in my state (35%). It's a little lighter than the back windows but close enough for me. I think that for what it costs its an easy upgrade to the lc that really improve the look. The tint i got was also a ceramic tint and the commute home from work while being stuck in traffic is noticeably cooler because the sun isn't burning the left side of my face anymore lol.

Is the tint on the tailgate cut out around the rear view mirror camera, and if not, how does it affect that view?
It has not been a problem in Miss Daisy. But I am used to driving with window film on my vehicles, since way back in ‘82. As we age, I think it is more difficult to safely drive with window tint, so you may want to use a 30% or 50% tint.

Tinted at 15% all around. Not sure what he put on the front windshield.
Perfect in daylight, but we Really don’t like driving at night. Of course really don’t care to drive anything at night if I can help it.
Usually roll down windows when backing in the garage.

I had the wind shield front strip and two front windows tinted to match the back. I live in FL, so it's a must. No issues seeing at night.

has anyone put Stratos 70 or Air 80 on the windshield? debating between the two. and does adding 50 to all rear glass affect the rearview camera?

I dunno 🤷. I’ve never heard of either brand. I’d stick with llumar or expel.

Does it affect the rear view camera? I dunno that either 🤷. I had Miss Daisy tinted the morning after I picked her up from the dealership.

they're both Miss Llumar. :ROFLMAO:

i use stratos 70 on windshield. i recommend it over the air 80. the performance of the stratos 70 over air 80 is perceptible and the extra 10% darkness is hardly perceptible.

I installed Llumar film back in the early 80’s to support my family while in graduate school. Back then, Llumar only made 2 types of automotive film. Neither of which is the named film that you mentioned in your post number 73.

Awesome. How is the blue-er coloring? It’s okay?
What film do you have on the rest?

you wont notice the blue from the inside. you only notice it from the outside. the side windows dont appear blue cause the glass has a tint to them already. stratos 35 all around including back. ive tried many films from huper optiks to suntek to 3m and i'll go back to stratos time and time again. the only other film i would try is llumar irx cause supposedly its the same film quality and near same performance of stratos but 25% cheaper cost.

Good to hear. Thank you. Planning on Stratos 70 windshield, Stratos 50 on the rears, 35 on the front. Air 80 on the moonroof.
