Window tinting for driver and passenger front seats side windows - is it a good idea?

I went with 30% and I have low visibility checking for pedestrians when turning at night. I roll the window down if I can’t see well enough.

In daylight hours, 30% is totally fine

From the factory second row seats back are tinted/privacy screened but they aren’t UV protected. I will be getting mine done all round.

I did legal tint which is 24% but probably around 20%. You can still see out of it at night and for me it is perfect.. I matched another vehicle I own front windows to the factory rear windows tint and it was so dark at night you couldn't see out and caused my son to sideswipe a tesla. I took a heat gun to the tint and pulled it off next day.
You might have to use a single edge razor blade, like what is used to scrape paint off of glass..

It works best if you use a tablespoon of Joy dishsoap in a one quart spray bottle while yo are doing it. Use towels to catch all the water and debris.

DO NOT do this on a piece of glass that has those little electric defrost strips on it. It is much more difficult to get it off of that glass. You might try using one of those green scotch-brite pads, replacing them when needed.

I added 50% tint to the factory ‘tinted’ glass. Huge difference! In heat gain. Did 30% on the front doors and sunroof. Clear on the windshield.

Got mine tinted to the legal limit in my state (35%). It's a little lighter than the back windows but close enough for me. I think that for what it costs its an easy upgrade to the lc that really improve the look. The tint i got was also a ceramic tint and the commute home from work while being stuck in traffic is noticeably cooler because the sun isn't burning the left side of my face anymore lol.

Is the tint on the tailgate cut out around the rear view mirror camera, and if not, how does it affect that view?
It has not been a problem in Miss Daisy. But I am used to driving with window film on my vehicles, since way back in ‘82. As we age, I think it is more difficult to safely drive with window tint, so you may want to use a 30% or 50% tint.
