🛠️ What Have You Done To Your LC250 Today?

Added a cell phone mount, very nice magnetic and charges. Not a fan of the charger down by shift changer.. it’s flat hard to see. It’s from StickerFab. Such a great fit on top of the dash.

Wanted to put my air dam back on to see if I could get better MPG. Had to remove them to install my victory 4x4 skids. Need to cut a bit of the rear air dam off to make it fit again.

I installed a Victory4x4 engine skid plate today. Transmission and T-case coming later. First observation… it’s in two pieces…??? They apparently changed the design and didn’t update ANY picture or description on their website so I was a bit confused when it arrived… the “manual” is for a Tacoma and also one piece… With that said I will be making a full weight up for anyone to use soon. I’m still happy with the purchase and like the ideas of 2 pieces for a modular service approach if needed. The powder coating and more importantly the weld quality is top notch. I had a few things to overcome but I like projects.

The only real gotcha is that there is extra hardware, which can be confusing. I have the Swabar disconnect, which has its own skid plate, and until I get my other skids from Victory, I reinstalled it and had to bend a tab so it doesn't interfere with the skid. Installing the two halves together first, with the three carriage bolts, would be easier. The BIG frustration/annoyance was that you can't access the two nylock nuts to install the access door without removing the driver side plastic air/mud dam to reach the nut. I installed two Rivers nuts instead of the Nylock nuts since welding a nut is not ideal that way, all I need to do to access the oil filter is take the two pan head bolts out. Message me if you get stuck with anything.

Nothing exciting.

Just its second oil change, first at 1200 miles. This one at 4910, close enough to 5K.

I sincerely hate the stock skid plate, and the drain plug needs to be replaced with a Fumoto drain valve.

Installed door sill protectors from Weathertech. Saw these somewhere in the forum and liked the beefier solution compared to a PPF. I have the clear PPF from StickerFab if anyone wants it; never installed. I like the added protection for muddy feet and rocks stuck in shoes grinding on the door sill. The kiddos had already scratched the door sill paint with their climbing in and out.

My 2011 FJ cruiser has spots worn down and it came with a protective adhesive liner from the factory.

I installed the Kick Plate Cover from Canvasback. They are $30 + $13 shipping for both sides. One side has their logo and "Made in the USA" but the tags are basically hidden under the seat once installed. I chose black and it matches and blends in well. I don't think my passengers will notice but the covers will do the job of keeping mud from boots and dog hair from embedding into the carpeted portion of the seat back.
