What are the reasons you replace 18” OEM LCFE or LCLC wheels?

Nice. I still have stock 18" wheels, but replaced tires with BFG KM3 285/75/18. No lift, no rubbing. I have my other vehicles lifted (2005 Taco and 2008 Taco) and they just don't ride the same.

Your KM3’s are 285/75/18(stock rim)?
And you can run that with no wheel spacers or lift? Is there any rubbing?

I went 275/70/18 but would like to size up a hair more- 285/75-18 would be my ideal size. I just didn’t think it was doable with out wheel spacers or changing rims

I saw Icon wheels and some after market ones everywhere.
My question: why did many people have mostly Icon wheels to replace their 18” OEM wheels, especially, great design and performance wheels equipped for LCFE and LCLC?
The big WHY

My “darling” LCFE with tons of mods is still having the OEM wheels

I have these wheels with Nitto G3's 275/70/17 https://lockoffroadwheels.com/products/combat-matte-black

Wheels 27.28 LBS Tires 49.8 lbs E rated = 77.08 LBS - which is pretty damn good & I love the way they look & preform without breaking the bank.

I do not think you can fit 285/75/18 on clean without rubbing. 34.8" in Toyo which I have. Other brands might deviate slightly but essentially a 35" tire.

Enough time had passed after figuring this out, so I just let it ride. Now that it’s brought up again, and to hopefully prevent any misunderstanding.

@robsurfskate definitely mistyped. They have 285/70s, not 285/75s. When they mentioned no rubbing earlier this year I got really excited… until I saw their previous images and saw all of that gap in the wheel wells. Photo zoomed in of their ride:
