In my neck of the woods, customers are not even able to buy Toyota Factory backed warranties, due to Southeast Toyota Distributorship which sells Fidelity Warranties which in turn is owned by JM Enterprises which also owns Southeast Toyota Distributorship.

So, I knew going in that I would have to buy my warranty outside of Florida.
Any luck? If so, who did you get it from?

I was able to call Jerry Johnson at Midwest Toyota and he sold me the Platinum VSA.

It was far less expensive than the ridiculous quote that my local crappy dealer offered me for a Fidelity Warranty.

To be fair to the Fidelity Warranty, within the SETF markets, it does function like a Toyota branded VSA, it is outside those markets where it can be a bit trickier.

Edited to correct a missing letter, my apologies for the mistake.

Here's the newb question for all the others who probably want to know - why the warranty?

I'm interested in investing in a good deal, but I definitely don't want to pay for something that's more hassle than it's worth. Is the VSA worth it?
People like giving their money away yet stats say 98% of the time the warranty company wins................just like self insurance. Insurance is an enemy to me as a Doc.
Look past one vehicle. Over 40 vehicles at 2-3K/vehicle it adds up. ($80-120K) at this point I could drive a Rover off the cliff and still be ahead) Those how win, like gamblers, are vocal. The rest you never hear them proclaim how they shouldn't have wasted their money on the warranty. I am good with 98% odds. Same goes for ALL appliance purchases. I know this will get flack but.....never done it, never will. They give me grief, I trade them in........it all depends on your ability to absorb a hit. Audi V8s are notorious offenders so that story is not surprising, couldn't give me a german car presently.........................Not trying to poke the bear. It is just a completely different mindset.

You are correct that most car warranties favor the warranty company, nobody is going to argue that.

Insurance / warranties are about buying down risk. Paying a premium to lower future financial risk. A lot of different factors go into whether that makes sense for an individual. For those who want to buy down risk, this thread is about getting the best deal possible. Given how much the price varies, people here are looking not to overpay.

Also, I'm highly skeptical that 98% of warranties favor the warranty company. If you can back that up, please do. It sounds like a made-up rant to me.

While I love your choice of cars in your signature, I've never lost money on a Stellantis warranty, not even close. I love their cars, but I'm definitely buying the extended warranty based on past experience.

I went back and re-read what I had typed and I inadvertently left off a letter from SETF, that is 100% my mistake and I have corrected it.

To be clear, Fidelity Warranties are treated the same as the Toyota VSA within SETF regions, outside those areas, it is trickier.

So, Fidelity is owned by JM Family Enterprises which also owns Southeast Toyota Distributorship and Southeast Toyota Financial.

Within SETF market the Fidelity Warranties do function like the Toyota VSAs, but outside those markets it does not function like the Toyota VSA.

Again, my apologies for making that error and leaving off the F in SETF.
