Japan wisely negotiated a good trade deal that offset higher tariff rates with upfront investment in the US. It appears they have effectively neutralized the more manageable increase (+12.5%) with a combination of lower export pricing and weaker currency exchange rates to deliver a slightly higher unit volume.
