Hello,

We may not need a new thread for this but oh well. I was “in transit” for 3+ weeks and expecting my LC any day when the recall and stop-sale was announced. Frustrating because it turns out it likely never left port and if I had known I wouldn’t have had my check issued from the lender.

Calling Toyota Brand Engagement has not been helpful - they are just reading the same things I have. I understand this is the corporate way, and they don’t want to say things they are not 100% certain about, and that’s ok.

Has anyone heard anything about a timeline for the fix getting implemented at port and sales resuming? I assume this would be a priority to clear up space and get that cash flow resuming, but I don’t actually know.

If anyone hears anything about when they might get their LC, can you update here?

I, nor anyone in here will be able to provide you an answer with definitive facts. Logic and common sense would indicate that Toyota will work to resolve the vehicles at Port or not sold first to unclog the industrial line. If you look at the interim recall notice it gives a notion deadline for implementation of the recall for consumers. The best you’re going to get from anyone is that your vehicle, in port or on lot, will likely be corrected prior to the consumer fix.

Another thing to consider, as an aside, is the recent instance of a stop sale for new generation 4Rs. Toyota initiated a fix at the factory and new arrivals were being sold while existing inventory sat on lots awaiting that fix before they could be sold. I’m not much of a betting man, but I would wager that land cruisers will be arriving from Japan and sold before current inventory receive the fix. This is a conversation you might want to have with your dealership.

I'm in a similar situation to yours. I was originally planning to pick up the car in mid-October. My salesperson told me that there would be no update until after mid-December. But I saw that Toyota's official website just updated its information today, stating, "One or more recall items are ready for repair." However, it is still marked as "Remedy Not Available". At least it indicates that Toyota is also actively addressing the issue. If there is any new information, we can update it in this post.

I am a recent new member to this forum and joined in anticipation of my LC arriving in the next week or so. Mine is also stuck at the port. My dealer said that the vehicles at port would be prioritized over recalls of vehicles already in service, but didn't have any concrete answers on when the repairs would be occurring. He was more optimistic and thought that getting the car in November was still likely.
