Welcome to the asylum. Thanks going to give this is try, thanks for posting follow up.
Well, I ordered these they came in today. I installed them in about 10 minutes and it is 1,000,000% better thank you so much for sharing this info. Night and day thanks again. You might try giving these guys a call. To be transparent, I've never used them but many strut suppliers, when you explain what you are looking for, can offer solutions (at least that was my experience when obtaining some non-existent boat hatch struts)

Thank you for the update. Well worth it not falling on my head when I’m pulling our hockey gear out of the trunk!Quick update. I actually use rear hatch daily. Feedback from my wife was it’s harder to close and pull down (which is expected). Not a big deal for me I’m 6’5” but just an FYI. Well worth the upgrade as I would normally have to lift it manually all the way up.
Yes, they still hold up great. I also have a ladder bolted onto the rear.@Chino, are these struts still working well for you? I’m 6’2”, and while I’m not expecting them to raise the hatch higher since travel is limited by the hatch spoiler/frame, am looking for something with some assistive force to push it fully up. My OEM struts, which never provided any lifting force to begin with, are hitting friction/stop points at about 75% up travel, and my banged up forehead is telling me we have a problem. Thanks!
