have a K&N filter replacement in my LC. One of the new benefits is no mouse can eat through that metal mesh on the media.
K&N it is! Thanks- brand new Toyota filter in there now and I bought one for the shelf. I had been wondering where that mesh I remembered from... a 4Runner filter... an Explorer filter... wherever. Should be a CTQ on turbo- or supercharged engine filters, merely a great idea everywhere else

Dont get too comfortable. Mice can chew through metal, copper at least. Not sure about stainless. Need to electrify the metal screen for best performance.
I guess I’ll stick to old school layered defenses… let the cat be the 1st line, K&N the 2nd!

I got stuck in 6 inches of a muddy puddle once, but it wasn't the puddle that bogged us down, it was the 5000lb travel trailer I was towing that sunk us in. A quick recovery tug from a D2 driver got us out and we continued our journey with out any problems.

Country roads flood all the time, no worries on my end… fortunately usually diesels are born for marshlands too

I take my kids to a creek crossing all the time. Haven’t had a problem yet.
