PPF Not Worth It?

I got mine all wrapped except for the roof. I noticed the other week someone hit my door and red paint was transferred. PPF did its thing and was able to whipe it off. IMO totally worth it now.View attachment 66600

Would have buffed right off the paint too.

MSINAL, are you talking about the painted part of the door sill? The blue part in my pic below. I've been thinking about doing PPF on it since I'm less than 2 weeks in and already seeing scratches.

How far up the door jamb do you go?

They did mine when I had full PPF done and he went up about 2-3” on each side. I actually wore the paint off of my 2018 4Runner getting in and out so it’s definitely worth doing!

I did my front fender and quarter panel to the hood, doors, mirrors, rear fender quarter panel to the roof with a pre cut kit myself. It took time. Biggest thing is a clean environment but it’s a wet apply so it’s forgiving. But again a lot of prep work. My goal was to not worry about pin stripping on the trail. The plastics are showing trail damage but not a single issue on my doors and mirrors. I have all the tools to polish and remove clear coat damage but if I don’t have to I don’t want to. The kit was cheap enough to justify its job for my needs. In my mind it’s disposable protection if it comes to that. Would I spend $4-8k to have someone do my whole car? No. But if I have to replace a panel here and there over time I’m good with that. I don’t have any notable pin stripping, it’s healed itself just fine and I can focus more on enjoying the drive rather than worrying about that branch you hear from you hood too your tailgate.
