Pistol Safe/Holster

As responsibility gun owner and CCW members, all similar setups as we see here are just temporary holder while 5-6 hr long drive. The pistol is always with me (appendix carry) if leaving the vehicle where are allowed or locked into safe box. My “one-in-champer pistol is safety in holster “all the time”
Here is other option. See photos.
Be happy LC owner and responsibility 2A citizens.
Have a great day!

For those inquiring about a secure vehicle pistol holster/safe…I can’t say enough good things about the Vara Safety Reach 2S. Just ordered another for the LC.

Website Photo and link included.

I live in Texas, do they come in a four pack?

I don’t want to get my ass chewed out here, we all know the rabbit hole of 2a sh*t that personal preference can bring… but do yall (right handed shooters) really prefer having your pistol at your right knee like that? I have a Blackhawk auto lock holster mounted on the passenger side of the center console area. I just like the retention factor and FOR ME, drawing from there just makes a whole lot more sense. Granted I have to lean over ever so slightly, but all the other holsters I’ve seen that are specifically for autos, have this same awkward draw setup… but I haven’t tried them so maybe I’m wrong.

I like your setup and being 6'4 don't want to compromise leg room. Did you just drill the holster into the plastic panel ?
I did… only because it was the first mod I did and no molle existed at the time. I know all of this is shooter preference but as far as draw, it just doesn’t make sense to me to have it any other way for me. I’ve got it mounted where if you were to come up to my window it would be hard to see, I can easily access it, my wife can easily access it, and the auto lock will keep it from flying around the cab in an accident (within reason obviously). I keep a lock box tucked under the passenger seat for when I can’t carry, and I clip my holster with spare mag onto the passenger seat rear pouch (again, where I can easily get it if I need it). I would recommend picking up some kind of molle panel if you’re gonna go this route, my panel is now permanently damaged, but that’s how I live my life lol.

Just out of curiosity, are these guns y'all are having to unholster, stick in this console mounted lockbox thing while you're driving, and then reholster when you get where you're going? Seems like a lot of fucking around with a loaded pistol in the starbucks parking lot. It's not hard to accidentally drag part of your clothing into the trigger guard when you reholster. I've done it, thankfully without giving myself glock leg.

Well, I can’t speak for everyone here. But I guess, yes? I have a routine that works for me, and I feel safe with.

In Ca CCW = Carry Concealed Weapon.
Weapon defined as a handgun.
The CCW person is responsible for the firearm if left unattended.

Carry on,,,

Well, mine goes in a lockbox for whenever I’m not in sight on my vehicle if I’m not carrying. And I can’t say I’ve read up on laws very well besides where I can and can’t carry and what instance I’m allowed to shoot (stand your ground laws and whatnot). But I have to assume there’s a not so fine line between unattended and stolen. Not sure how unattended would even happen and Im making a bold assumption that’s what you’re getting at? As in, someone breaks a window and takes the pistol from its holster. I would assume that would still fall under the umbrella of stolen, yea? But I guess if I left it on the seat of a diner… that would be unattended and I’d still be responsible for whatever felony is committed at that point?

From what I understand even if a firearm was stolen even when properly and legally locked in a safe (or stored/locked according to law), The CCW holder would be required to immediately report the theft to the doj and local authorities.

They also give you some ridiculously short amount of time to do so.
