Can anyone familiar with cross bars tell me, is this a “T slot”? I’m trying to figure out which mounting bracket style(s) I can use for certain things on the cross bars. These are different than the cross bars I had on my Highlander back in 2015.

Specifically, the Thule Motion 3 will work by clamping around the bars. But the Trxstle fly rod carrier I’m looking at, has “T-slot” mounts that would be much more preferred than their XL clamps, as I wouldnt have clearance to put the locks on the XL clamps. I think the T slots will work in this but I have zero experience with this style.

Ah Thank you I might not have done that. I never knew this type of mount existed.
If you really don't care about fancy...... this is an example of what's out there.

1st number is tall, 2nd is width ie.... 20X40 or they have 20X60 etc......

Did you confirm if they were compatible with the t slot hardware? I would love to buy one and mount a ski rack to it if so.

Yes - they are t slots. The t-slot mounts for my trxstle fishing rod carrier worked great.

Why would you remove the rubber strip? Just installed a yakima fat cat with t-slot hardware. The hardware slides right on top of the rubber strip.
I thought the same thing. Personally i would probably not cut the rubber if i didn't have to, but the t-slot “nuts” for my fly rod carrier are too thick and i cant fit them in the track with the rubber so i have to trim it.

Yes, don't cut the rubber. These (I'm pretty sure) are made by Yakima and their design calls for just pressing down on the rubber gasket and sliding the t-slot bolts over the top. Way better than Thule's old stripping that had to be cut down to size based on whatever accessories you had.

Yes they are Yakima

I'm looking at buying the OEM crossbars for my LCLC with the intention of putting a Thule Motion 3 XL on it. Might be a dumb question based on your original post, but is it safe to assume you had no issues with the clamps on the Thule fitting on the OEM crossbars? Many thanks

So i actually never fit the motion xl on the crossbars before i took them off and put a sherpa rack on (which i plan to put the thule motion on) but if i have time this week I’ll take a cross bar and check the fit but im 99% certain there shouldnt be any issue
