Hi, I'm interested in some things NYTOP has (rock rails, bumper). Has anyone bought from them and if so, was your experience good?
Thanks for your advice.

Also interested in their sliders and front hybrid bumper with optional bull bar. The bumper looks nice and slim, but I wonder how effective it is as protecting the front end. I also couldn't find any information on installation.

Hi, I've gotten good feedback on the Lexus forum about NYTOP and ordered the rock sliders and hybrid front bumper for my GX550 OT. On the NYTOP page on the hybrid bumper, down the page is a link to install instructions. Unlike some other bumpers that are larger and have winch capability, the NYTOP hybrid bumper is really easy to install. No removal of the main front plastic grill and you also leave the internal aluminum crash bar in place. It basically just removes a lot of bottom level plastic from in front of the tires and replaces the middle plastic with metal and moves the recovery points out for easier access. I like the way it looks, and I went back and forth between black middle part (steel) or silver (Al). I ended up with the silver version, as it seems to match the part I'm removing which I kinda liked. Either looks good. Just need to decide whether to add some extra light or not (there is a spot on each side for them if wanted). EDIT: I don't know anything about the bull bar.

Are you talking about the GX bumper when you say it doesn't require removal of the front grille? The LC Hybrid bumper has a disclaimer that you will have to remove the bumper to install. I took the bumper off to install a light bar, huge pain but that's how I know if any of it has to come off, all of it does despite looking modular. that was the biggest turn off for me and why I am going with the CAtuned bull bar instead. If i am gonna take that bumper off again, it will be for a full steel replacement. yall will be paying $1000+ for install of that hybrid bumper which isnt much better than the CAtuned bar. the CAtuned bull bar is also so much cheaper and just bolt on to the tow points.

Dont see any install instructions for the LC hybrid bumper on their page though so if you found that please send a link.

You are correct, my comment about install was GX550 related, should have been obvious to me that the LC would be different. Sorry for the misdirection.

I purchased the following parts from NYTOP on Nov 6, 2024:
  • Skid Plate Assembly - link / $1000 / arrived Jan 11, 2025
  • Front Hybrid Bumper - link / $1200 / pre-ordered
  • Rock Sliders - link / $1400 / arrived Jan 11, 2025
  • Rear Recovery Point - link / $200 / arrived Dec 6, 2024
NYTOP unofficial statements about the bumper:
We are still in final development stages for the bumper, and will update you as soon as that's ready to ship later this year!
We hope to start shipping them by end of April or May.

I took a gamble on NYTOP because at the time of my order I could not find any build examples from real customers. Many of the other parts I found were too aggressive looking for my needs or too mismatching in style for the vehicle. I appreciated the NYTOP minimalist part design and how well it integrates with the existing design.

The parts are well made (UPDATE March 2025: Made in China) and the packaging they arrived in could withstand an apocalypse. I will need to drive it over to the dump or spend the next six months filling my trash/recycle bins with the packing material.

My only real complaint so far is that the NYTOP website is sorely lacking. There is nowhere near enough information about the parts or their installation needs. That said, the only part that seems challenging to install is the bumper and I do not actually have it yet. Everything else has been as described. Otherwise I am happy with my purchases!

Update: I just checked the NYTOP website and they have now published an installation guide: 2024-Current Toyota Land Cruiser Front Hybrid Bumper Installation Guide — NYTOP | Not Your Typical Original Parts

How far do the sliders stick out compared to the LC's OEM running boards? Can these realistically be used as a way to step into the vehicle?

I don’t have the OEM running boards for comparison. I do use the NYTOP sliders as a step, but it is not typically necessary to enter my vehicle so your mileage may vary. NYTOP sales team was very responsive to my inquiries.

They just dropped a dump exhaust as well. A bit pricey for a short tail pipe but they seem like a small batch/made to order company.

I’m gonna wait for sxth Offroad to drop their $99 tailpipe for the LC this summer similar to the one they have for the Tacoma. It’s same thing as nytop really

I'm not familiar with them but will check them out. $99 sounds better than $799

$799 for titanium is not bad, catbacks made of titanium for other cars are 2k and up.

Anyone install the nytop rear recovery point? I wasn’t sure what to do with wiring harness and above the top bolt location on the frame. Also couldn’t really remove the wiring clip that’s attached to the frame.

Yes they can. I just installed a pair today. I'll be posting some pics in a post here shortly. But I can get in and out without abusing my seat cloth now. I can also open the door and stand outside of the vehicle without putting my feet on the ground, which will definitely come in handy in mud and water.

Installed a pair of NYTOP sliders today. I think they look amazing. Installation was pretty easy. I recommend laying a towel on your floor jack, balancing the slider on it, pump it into place and just bolt it on. Pretty simple. No drilling at all. Uses existing, threaded holes in the LC frame. I did not find any instructions, in the box or online, but all I needed was the torque setting for the bolts. I contacted their customer service through the chat service and got an answer in minutes. It's 48 ft. lbs., btw. I added a little blue threadlocker to all the bolts and went to socket wrench heaven for a while.

I researched sliders for quite a while looking for the right ones. These have a flat top and make a very decent step. The angular design looks killer. They have a different look, depending on your point of reference. The sloping ends disappear from certain angles. Pretty amazing design, IMO. And I think it really complements the 250's angles.

I learned today that NYTOP parts are made in China. My bumper arrived and the waybill indicated this clearly. NYTOP reps confirmed this fact. NYTOP prefers to obscure the origin of their parts by leaving things vague on their website and reshipping China-originated packages from their CA location. Because my order was so longstanding they skipped this step. My past three orders did not indicate any imported origin info whatsoever and shipped from CA.

“All NYTOP™ products are designed and engineered in California, USA, and manufactured with PFISTER® ingenuity.”

I guess they prefer not to clarify that the parts are made in China. I would have no qualms with imported parts if they were not sold at a premium under confusing pretense. Good luck to you shoppers who care about what you are buying.

I mean just because it’s made in China doesn’t mean it’s bad quality. Every electronic device you own likely contains parts manufactured in China, including your Land Cruiser. OEM wheels are made in China.

US companies getting raw materials to make things here could also be using Chinese materials.

We live in a global society/economy at the end of the day.

Hopefully you find products that work for you!
