Noisy Brakes fixed

Following because the servicing dealer is terrible and without a TSB won't do anything.

In fact, as I posted elsewhere they first tired to blame me, then they tried to say it is/was normal and when I showed them the Lexus TSB, they said that Lexus issued the TSB to quiet luxury car cry babies.

So if the TSB dropped, I will relish rubbing it in their face and making them fix the break squeal.

As of today there still doesn't appear to be a TSB for this issue. All current TSBs:

Just returned from dealer. They replaced pads and calipers. NO NOISE!

The noise for me appeared after a few months of ownership. Probably over 1k miles (maybe much more). Hopefully, it doesn't come back for you as the break pads wear in.

Was the replacement due to a technical bulletin, or were they just being generous?
When a month ago I brought the squeal up to my dealer they knew about the problem, saying they needed to order the parts. I assume it was a technical bulletin.

You are very lucky, my dealership had no clue and tried at first to blame me for the squeal.

Then they tried tell me it was normal, so you are lucky that your dealership took ownership of the issue and attempted a fix.

mine went away on its own. But as I mentioned before, I towed my travel trailer for a trip and wailed on the brakes couple times. Seems to have done the trick. But the flames from the front brakes melted the PPF around all the paint, then a B pillar rattle started, followed by crappy heated seats, then my apple car play started disconnecting and finally I realized the rear gate had shitty lighting. Thats my story and im sticking to it

That was already suggested, but where I live I have four Toyota stores, owned by two different dealers groups.

Both are terrible, the other group told me I could pay $2,500 for new breaks or $250 for the diag fee.

I told them I would pay neither as the issue is real and Lexus already has a TSB for it, their response, we can call the Police.

I said to the guy, please call the Police, in fact here I will call them for you and he said, give me a sec, let's not be hasty.

He called who I presume to be his Manager and after talking to him for a few minutes, said we won't charge you for the diag, but please don't come back.

I laughed and walked out, so yeah in my neck of the woods Toyota stores suck.

I did reach out to Toyota Corporate Engagement and the person I spoke with was very nice and wanting to be helpful, but also was honest.

She said that she cannot make a dealership do anything, all she can do is suggest and coax

Adding that if a dealership is willing to fire you as a customer by threatening Police, she said no amount of coaxing is going to make them change their minds.

So, she suggested that she would reach out to the other dealer group's nearest dealership and see if she could coax them into helping me out, but if they are blaming you for damaging the breaks and then labeling Lexus owners as cry babies, they probably aren't going to be helpful either, but she would try.

I appreciated her honesty, but I am also not holding my breath either, it seems that at least in my case without the TSB no dealership in my neck of the woods is going to do anything for me regarding the breaks.

This is exactly why I wish we could rid ourselves of dealerships entirely and just transact directly with Toyota.

Does anyone use a third-party Toyota master mechanic, like that Car Care Nut guy? I'm not saying repair it with a third-party if it's still under warranty, but maybe they could shed more light on this issue.

I'm about 3K now and it's getting worse by the mile. I'm going to go back to my youth when I had a high milage Tercel that the reverse went out, and I had no money to fix it. Just never use reverse and wait until the TSB comes out. That, or ear plugs....
