Was the replacement due to a technical bulletin, or were they just being generous?Just returned from dealer. They replaced pads and calipers. NO NOISE!
Pads and calipers or pads and rotors?Just returned from dealer. They replaced pads and calipers. NO NOISE!

Do you know if they were following a TSB or just wanting to be helpful?Calipers

When a month ago I brought the squeal up to my dealer they knew about the problem, saying they needed to order the parts. I assume it was a technical bulletin. Was the replacement due to a technical bulletin, or were they just being generous?
You are very lucky, my dealership had no clue and tried at first to blame me for the squeal. When a month ago I brought the squeal up to my dealer they knew about the problem, saying they needed to order the parts. I assume it was a technical bulletin.
Find. Another. Dealership. You are very lucky, my dealership had no clue and tried at first to blame me for the squeal.
Then they tried tell me it was normal, so you are lucky that your dealership took ownership of the issue and attempted a fix.
That was already suggested, but where I live I have four Toyota stores, owned by two different dealers groups.Find. Another. Dealership.
That really sucks dirty pond water. That was already suggested, but where I live I have four Toyota stores, owned by two different dealers groups.
Both are terrible, the other group told me I could pay $2,500 for new breaks or $250 for the diag fee.
I told them I would pay neither as the issue is real and Lexus already has a TSB for it, their response, we can call the Police.
I said to the guy, please call the Police, in fact here I will call them for you and he said, give me a sec, let's not be hasty.
He called who I presume to be his Manager and after talking to him for a few minutes, said we won't charge you for the diag, but please don't come back.
I laughed and walked out, so yeah in my neck of the woods Toyota stores suck.
I did reach out to Toyota Corporate Engagement and the person I spoke with was very nice and wanting to be helpful, but also was honest. That really sucks dirty pond water.
I would call the Toyota corporate engagement telephone number listed so many times in this forum..
This is exactly why I wish we could rid ourselves of dealerships entirely and just transact directly with Toyota.I did reach out to Toyota Corporate Engagement and the person I spoke with was very nice and wanting to be helpful, but also was honest.
She said that she cannot make a dealership do anything, all she can do is suggest and coax
Adding that if a dealership is willing to fire you as a customer by threatening Police, she said no amount of coaxing is going to make them change their minds.
So, she suggested that she would reach out to the other dealer group's nearest dealership and see if she could coax them into helping me out, but if they are blaming you for damaging the breaks and then labeling Lexus owners as cry babies, they probably aren't going to be helpful either, but she would try.
I appreciated her honesty, but I am also not holding my breath either, it seems that at least in my case without the TSB no dealership in my neck of the woods is going to do anything for me regarding the breaks.
