Leather install from Toyota ?

Part of the deal I made with Toyota when purchasing my 1958 was that they would install leather in it. They finally called me today to bring it in and install it. Everything seems good so far, but I’m just curious if anyone has any input on this or has any recommendations on what to look out for?

Has anyone had them do this?
Here’s some photos of the install. Just picked it up today. Super happy with the way it turned out. Esp since this was part of the deal I made with the dealer. Would for sure recommend
I got alea leather installed on the 1958 including the center and arm rest. The perforation and color and material are identical to premium LC pattern
nice brown looks great! I went all black, had them swap out the white stitching in the arm rest and did black stitching everywhere. Will look and stay cleaner for longer. I also left the side panels on doors. Main reason I started this thread was so people know, try and work this into your deal, or have them do it if you’re thinking about it. Way better than the covers. IMO. See photos.

looks great. this is the alea leather but the non perforated option.

You guys just inspired me to do this on my other car. Totally wasn't aware aftermarket leather could have outcomes like that

I got the Java leather...$1,500 and well worth it. BTW, I told them I wanted the fabric seat covers when they switched them out (I may use them one day when leather wears out?). Anyway, just a tip on that. No reason you should keep your fabric seat covers if you switch them out.

We just had Katzin installed on our FE. They matched the color and the stitching perfectly. We have the heated front and rear seats and the cooling front seats. Everything works fine. Warranty is 3years 36K miles. We saw a 58 w/Katzkin that made our FE look shabby. The first people comment when they get into the FE is how great the seats look and feel.

My GSD ripped the back seat with her paws so I replaced the cheesy Toyota seats with Katzkins. Big improvement in looks and comfort.
I had a box in back seat that made a dime sized puncture in the rear driver’s side seat bottom of my FE black leather seat. Would a Katzkins seat cover match the adjacent seat if I only replace the rear driver’s side seat bottom?

I have no idea. If you can get a color match, you're good. I went with a different color closer to the Java I had hoped for instead of the boring black seats.

Call them. I am sure they could. My center arm rest leather is identical to that leather. Texture color, etc. check out Alea leather. Seems better than katskinz

Hey there! I’m pretty sure it’s not OEM Toyota seats but keep me honest if you find out that they are, in fact, OEM. I bought my 1958 and had the dealer install the Katzkin Leather to closely match factory colorway and stitching color.

Here are photos - I had a BMW with incredible leather work. I absolutely love the Katzkin leather.

Here are some pics. Sorry I have a seat cover in the back for my dog.

Yeah man. The matching Katzkins are very sharp indeed. Feels like old school leather seats but they breathe well and are cooler to the touch than old school leather, and smell good too. Glad to hear I'm not the only one that feels that way. I get lots of complements. It totally changed the inside of the car for the better.

Ya, fully aware it’s not Toyota factory or OEM leather. But I am in love with it like you said. It’s Alea leather. Very happy and would recommend it.
