LC250 Rock Sliders List

I bot the gx550 sliders on FB marketplace. They fit great. I assume they're the same as the stock LC250s but honestly don't actually know.

Can you actually use those as a step comfortably to get into your LC?

It works as a step depending on what footwear you have on. Nice shoes? No not really. But boots or sandals or something - you can but you have to somewhat step to the side.

Tho I know some folks buy clamp on steps that 3rd parties sell

I have CBI sliders on my LCLC and had zero issues other than the delay in shipping. That had zero impact on me because I actually ordered them and had them delivered before my LC had arrived. They look great and function well as a side step for my wife and kids.

Well I currently have a set of RCI 5 degree and CBI without kickout in my garage so thought I’d give some thoughts and comparisons.

Fit: CBI are wider. From frame to outside edge is 15”. RCI are about 14” for the front and 16 or so for the kickout. Both make acceptable steps but CBI are a little wider for the front passengers. CBI are also 4” longer front to back (70” vs 66”). So for back passengers, the no kickout, CBI might still be a better step. They both sit at about the same height. Removable top plate on RCI vs welded on for CBI.

Design: I can’t really decide which I like better. Personal preference but I think both look good.

Finish: both are quality builds, nice welds, quality material. RCI are powder coated and seems very high quality, nice texture. We’ll see how it holds up. CBI are raw (I usually prefer to rattle can for easy touch ups).

Install: CBI are much much easier to install. Better requires drilling or cutting. RCI uses a channel and a few extra bolts through the frame. Probably a little sturdier? However CBI seemed to be very stout when mounted.

Price: RCI are cheaper and customer service has been top notch. CBI had a lengthy lead time and I haven’t dealt with customer service so can’t comment on that.

I decided to keep the RCI sliders but really was 50/50 on which to keep. Let me know if you have any other questions. CBI are still up for sale! Located in Cheyenne, WY if anyone’s interested.

Those welds on the RCI don't look as clean as the CBI.

I've never seen a set from CBI, but I know I spent an hour or so dressing the welds on my RCI sliders before priming. The leading corners were especially rough.

Thanks for this feedback. I was pretty sold on the RCI's until I saw some of the welds. I'm going to wait for the Slee's to come back in stock and put those on the LC.

The RCI stuff is strong and well-engineered, just a little lacking on finish.

Check out White Knuckle as well. The set I got from them for my old GX was excellent!

I have had the Slee sliders for about 8 months. They are hell for stout. I installed them myself without lifting the vehicle. I used a floor jack to position them during install. They work well as a step and as sliders. I am pretty impressed with the quality and the design. No drilling or mods required, and no compromise to factory rust protection. The only thing I don't like is the mixture of metric snd SAE bolts. Why use SAE on a Toyota? The instructions are excellent and include all torque values.

I love them. And really like the kick out for the back seat and extra footing to access roof rack. Even my wife commented that they looked a lot better than the stock running boards.

I had them installed at a shop so I can’t comment on the install process.

Anybody here running the ASFIR Sliders/steps? I love that they double as a step and they are steel so stronger than aluminum. They are not DOM but offer significant weight savings over other sliders I am considering (namely the Westcotts). It doesn't hurt that they are well priced either

I am curious how well they can take a hit. I don't plan on doing any hard core rock crawling, but I also don't want to worry that a mistake on a line will end up deforming/destroying my sliders, much less my rocker panels (vehicle body). Thanks for the help!!

I currently have the factory steps installed but my wife keeps getting door dings at her work. Theres no where else she can park to avoid it and spots are assigned. Im wondering if any of the sliders do a better job at preventing door dings?
