Hey all,

I've read a couple of other threads for LC 250 and looked at a couple of websites but there has been little actual concrete information about what kayak carriers work with the stock crossbars and rails that you can get on the LC. My wife and I got kayaks for the first time so we are completely new to hauling them and don't know anything about crossbars, kayak carriers, etc. It looks like the OEM crossbars are T styled I think and either 1x3 or 2x3 dimensions.

We are looking at the Hullivators as we are not tall so anything easy to load a 10 foot and 12 foot kayak without hitting the vehicle would be awesome. So please share your knowledge, tips and tricks, what you own and have tested and any pictures to help myself and I'm sure plenty of others in the future!

The stock cross bars are not movable and aren’t placed ideally — if you don’t already have them, don’t get them for this purpose. I have a set of old Thule square bar cross bars and a rear mount kayak carrier that will go on there. I’d worry I’d hit the rear spoiler loading it though.

If I were starting from scratch I’d likely get after market cross bars and a Hullivator. Alternatively in another thread folks posted some hitch mount loaders that make the job earlier.

Edit: see this thread.

Unfortunately I already have the crossbars so was hoping I could make them work with the Hullivator. We tow a teardrop camper also so was hoping we could throw the kayaks up top and tow at the same time.
