LC 2027 Gas Mileage

Hello everyone- first time poster to the forum. New LC owner. I just got my 2027 LC and absolutely love it. Unfortunately, it’s love for gas appears to exceed my love for the vehicle.

I’m currently getting around 16 MPG highway compared to the advertised 25 MPG. Drive Mode = Normal.

I traded out the stock tires for Falken Wild Peak A/T 4W 265/75 R20. I fully expect the larger tires to have a negative impact on fuel efficiency but I didn’t expect 35% hit.

I have your exact LC and upgraded the tires. It will get better but I’m mostly highway and average 18ish overall. I use premium obviously but if you don’t it will worsen still.

I went to a Toyo Open Country 275/70 R18 but in an SL and was surprised to only lose about 3-4 miles on a tank of gas. Not everyone is willing to do an SL, but it works for me.

should have ditched the 20" wheels, they are @ 42Lbs each where the stock 18" wheels are 32lbs,
as everyone mentions... Drive in a manner where you don't engage the turbo or the hybrid battery (watch the gauges/edit the cluster for dual gauge setup/ Boost Hybrid ).
After break in period the MPGs will increase

My 2025 with 26lb aftermarket wheels gets 19.8 city and up to 28 highway. "Normal" highway driving 80+ MPH i get 22-25mpg

Have a 27 LC stock 20"s ... Run 87 Regular in it and I am getting over 350 miles to the tank. I get 24 MPG most of the time on Hwy and 23 City. Have the Drive mode set to ECO ... I filled it up almost on empty and didnt see any change in the miles per tank with PREM fuel except the Price ! I also have a 2026 Taco non hybrid run REGULAR in that as well I get the same and sometimes 25 MPG on the Taco. So We are very happy with 24 MPG hwy and 23 Combined for sure. We were going to upgrade the tires But I knew I would take a hit so we are leaving the Yokohama's on now for sure till they need replacing and maybe by that time comes Fuel will go back to where it was. Then maybe tire upgrade.

Miss Daisy’s fuel economy didn’t start rising until somewhere north of 10K miles on the odometer. Others have already given you good information, so I won’t repeat it. There is a technique called ‘pulse and glide’ from The Car Care Nut which can help..

Miss Daisy’s fuel economy has been great, seeing 30+ mpg using 93 octane E0 gasoline on extended interstate highway trips. Lots of things can destroy that.

I have same tires but R18. E load. Getting close to 20mpg. Started closer to 16 and Improvement began around 5k miles

Lol, @kbellqueen did this awhile back. Came in here with a new (to her) lifted LC that was getting terrible mpgs… her diff was locked also in the pictures.

She left before she got an answer and never came back. I recognized her name as a youtube fitness influencer my wife had previously followed, and passed the info to you peeps. The rest is history, and her post lives in infamy.

Never tried the specific sequence on our LC, but on Tundra the diff locker defaults to off on each new start cycle if you happen to have it on & shut off the truck. Is LC different? Wonder if was a diff or center locker that she had on?
