Keep stereo on after turning engine off?

The timeout seems to be the same. Except now I just push the button on the stereo, and if I recall correctly also bypasses the splash screen for an additional win.

I’m not sure of the timeout. There’s gonna be one so the 12 volt battery doesn’t drain.

I changed the ACC setting so the radio stays on when turning off the vehicle, but if you open the door, the radio immediately turns off. I was hoping to be able to have the radio continue playing when pumping gas (or whatever), but looks like it may not work.

I just want it to play while at the Drive In Theater, without the annoying shutting off, and having to be turned back on every 20 minutes.

Agreed with everyone, however the days of unlimited radio play went away in this era of wireless key fobs. They’ve made it easy to forget that cars need to be shut down, making a timeout necessary. Wish it were an option, though.

Older hack, IDK if it'll work..........

With the engine running, foot on the brake, shift into neutral, press the button to shut the engine off, shift into park, release the brake.

After turning the ignition off and with the door open I was able to operate the audio only by just pressing the volume knob. The screen with light up black and then proceed to load up. You should then be able to utilize the audio system without the ignition on. I too enjoy having the radio on while cleaning up the car. So I just discovered this a couple hours ago. Let me know how it works out for you.

Miss Daisy keeps shutting off her radio when we are at the Drive In theater. It’s annoying.

Go into the vehicle settings in the radio. There is an option to turn ACC mode off. This will allow radio to stay on when engine is turned off.

It’s in the main display. It’s under one of the vehicle settings.

On the center infotainment screen:

1. Tap gear / cog wheel on bottom left
2. “Vehicle Customize” option in list
3. “Utility”
4. Disable “ACC customize”

Yeah, I used to like that my old car used to keep playing the radio even after I opened the door. It would only turn off if I shut and locked the doors.

Wouldn’t keeping the radio on for a couple hours kill the battery? How did/does this work at drive-in theatres, surely people aren’t idling their engines?

This may be a dumb question, but this is my first push start button vehicle. Is there a way to keep the stereo on after turning off the engine without having to turn off and push the power button again? I've looked through the owners manual but can't find anything.

If you want the radio on after you turn off the car and open your doors, you just need to put it in ACC mode.

To do that push the start button with no brake, that is the key. The car should react, push it one more time.
(you should have to push it twice)

After the second push the cluster should turn on along with the infotainment system & music.

I tried that at the drive in theater. Eventually, Miss Daisy pops up a message that she is going to power down the ACC mode, to prevent the battery being drained to much to start the engine. So I just start The engine, let it cycle on and off until the movies are over, and then go home.

That’s what we do. It cycles on and off for the entire double feature.
