Introducing "Land Cruiser Garage Talk" – Your New Go-To for Garage Gear & Setup

I have a bizillian Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches, never had an issue and I am hard on hand tools.

I prefer the Home Depot house brand black chrome socket set (the large set not sold any more) which I think are made by Stanley, as they are sockets, extensions, ratchets and just a few screw driver bit for the 3/8 ratchet and not a bunch of junk you'll never use..
Agreed on the Gearwrench quality. I bought a set 6-7 years ago and have used the heck out of them. I was working on my 10-year-old 200 series with a rusty bolt and put too much torque on the 12mm, causing it to lock up. Contacted GW and they sent me another one for free. I would not hesitate to buy another set if/when the time comes.

Also, I love my Milwaukee cordless ratchet and Dewalt Cordless Impact Wrench and Angle Grinder.

Last but not least, one of the newest additions to my collection is a mini ratchet made by Klein Tools that holds 1/4" bits. Very handy for getting into tight spots to drive or loosen screws/bolts quickly. The big hole on the end makes it easy to swing the ratchet with one finger.

Yeah, I love it. The bit holder is magnetic, the ratchet is reversible, and the black wheel allows you to spin the bit freehand if the screw/bolt is very loose. Very solid, high quality feel to it, and seems like a steal at $15. I anticipate many years of use out of it and possibly something that can be handed down to future generations.

I built a little “pit” on the side of my garage for oil changes and lubrication of the “propeller “ shafts. I prefer “drive” shafts, my generation I guess.
Oil filter happens to be the same size as the one on my SxS so I already had that wrench.
The grease gun with the hose I’ve had for a couple decades now. It’s really handy for getting into those tight spots. It was just about a must for me when lubing these drive shaft knuckles, especially since I didn’t really want to jack it up and put it on jack stands. I was fortunate to be able to get all the zerks with my gun and little pit. No way in hell I’ll be doing it in the winter.
