Toyotas deal w/ washer fluids pretty well. Been feeding the green RainX bug juice over the years to our Prius, GX460, 2 Sequoias, 2 Tundras & LC w/ no issues. I admit the stuff doesn’t stay in the vehicle washer bottle very long they way we drive all over to ever cause a long term problem. Wonder if those w/ washer problems y'all had were w/ Bosch sensors? I’ve had a run of failures w/ Bosch sensors not holding up at all on my Polaris UTV, Wakeboard boat or Yamaha jet ski. Used to be bulletproof.

Once upon a time Lucas electrics were the joke of the euro import industry & known as the Prince of Darkness, seems for me like Bosch sensors are trying to replace Lucas for the title.

I’d blame globalization of production with failures of Bosch products.

I have a supply of RainX at home- I’ll probably stick with the Toyota stuff for now, but good to know.

I had a fouled sensor on a VW from RainX and it was found to be pretty common knowledge on VWVortex forums to avoid it. Someone posted a list of vehicles that wouldn’t like the RainX on that forum. I let my sensor marinade in 99% isopropyl alcohol and thankfully did not have to remove/replace the reservoir just to get the erroneous dash light to go out.

I used RainX washer fluid on three Jeeps, a Ford and a few GM products with zero issues. The OEM Toyota stuff is fine, but doesn’t strip the bug guts off as good as it could.

Not sure. RainX and Subaru issues are well known, I didn’t know about it but now I do. The issue did not surface until this year on my wife’s 2017 Forester … (9) years.

I have a 1972 MGB with Lucas electrics … no issues.

Mine was eight years newer than his- had it for a decade and apart from a few “one off” parts replacements the Prince of Darkness never showed himself. The parts wore the “British Leyland” rather than Lucas name by then. Some replacements from the parts counter even said “Jaguar” on them

Does Toyota sell 4wd blinker fluid? Do you have a part number?

I prefer to purchase maintenance products from the manufacturer.
