Hood struts

This vendor wording seems confusing. So do the Redline struts require drilling of the hood or not?

"✔ BOLT-IN SYSTEM - This Hood QuickLIFT System is designed and engineered to use existing locations for our vehicle-specific mounting hardware. We do install step bit to enlarge hole on inner hood for our blind insert to slip behind. Simple hand tools will be required to install once hole is enlarged - see manual."

I don't know about the LC but on my Taco, there was a small hole on the underside of the hood (I assume was a fixture locating hole used during assembly) you had to enlarge/drill that hole for an 1/8" rivet and drill a 2nd hole using the bracket as a guide for a 2nd rivet.

I would assume the LC would be similar.

I have been talking with Redline since last fall and have my struts in the mail. Will install next week and share my thoughts on the install and performance, which I expect will go well and be fantastic.

Just installed Redline Tuning Hook Struts, took about 30 min, just be careful and take it easy with the drill on enlarging the holes. Works great, solid product and to me worth the $99.

Looks good! Might be a no go for anyone running aftermarket stuff between the fuse box and ECM, looks like the front of them reside in that area with the hood closed and could potentially cause some clearance issues for anything mounted there?

Has anyone installed the redline struts yet? Does it require any drilling or just use OEM holes? Thoughts overall on the construction/quality/durability?
The Redline struts just became available last Friday. Mine are due to arrive on Wednesday. I'll post some install pics in a new thread once I get them on the truck.
