Have you experienced a high-frequency electrical sound in your car?

Brand new to the forum, picked up a new 25 Land Cruiser two days ago. I’ve noticed the high pitched tone that others have mentioned during braking and deceleration. Not present at cruising speed. I’ve owned two previous Toyota hybrids (Rav4, Prius). This type of noise was not present in either. I plan to report this to my dealership and to Toyota corporate next week, and will post any updates...

No doubt the tone is there but at 13kHz it's at the upper range of hearing for most people I would guess are shopping at this price point (40's-50's) not to mention being easily masked by road noise, music, etc. Could Toyota have done a better job, of course, can I imagine that the designers/engineers didn't notice or think it was a an issue, yup. Depending on age and sensitivity this could be real annoyance or no problem at all. I can sometimes hear similar frequencies in my home coming from certain wallwarts, computer equipment and some of my music gear if I'm in just the right spot and catch a standing wave. It's not desirable but also not anything so piercing that I'd jab a pencil in my ear or dump a $60k vehicle, but that's just me.

After buying in July 2024 I just had the sound come up a few times this week. Why would it happen just now after all this time? In think the longest duration was about a minute or more and the other times were 15-30 seconds.
