What annoys me about the LC sun visor when pulled to the side is that it rests against the Oh Shit Handle on the A-Pillar. Looks like the GX sun visor with the extension eliminates this minor annoyance of mine. Thanks for bringing this mod to the forum, you found the solution I didn't know I wanted. Awesome!!

I found the setting in the head unit to unlock all doors with the key fob, but after testing it it doesn’t seem to work. Are you 100% sure that when the vehicle is locked the key fob allows keyless entry to unlock the rear doors?

I think that the setting via the vehicle setting is to change the behavior using the physical key. Adjusting the unlock behavior via the entry function (hand on the handle with fob in pocket) is programmed via the key fob. See images from the manual a few posts above.

Page 129 of the manual linked above specifically references the drivers and passenger doors only as using keyless entry. It does not mention the rear doors.

Right, the rear doors don’t have an entry sensor. I’m probably not following what you’re wanting to do. If you’re trying to have all doors unlock when you use the entry feature, the owner manual describes how to achieve this. That’s what I understood you wanted to achieve. If you’re wanting to be able to use the entry feature on the rear doors, that’s not possible, as the rear doors don’t have the sensors.

Shipping took quite awhile, but the install was just as easy as the driver side. Now that both are in, it looks factory. Fits great and happy to have two fully extending sun visors (as it should have been from the start) .

If you’re trying to have all doors unlock when you use the entry feature, the owner manual describes how to achieve this. That’s what I understood you wanted to achieve. If you’re wanting to be able to use the entry feature on the rear doors, that’s not possible, as the rear doors don’t have the sensors.

That's basically my complaint - the rear doors do not have the entry sensor. They do on the GX and my wife's RX. Given the similarity in cost between the GX and LC (at least the upper trims) I feel they should have been included. As I think the visors, tonneau cover, and....there is one other item I am always annoyed with but I am completely brain farting as to what it was...should have been included. Of course the flip side of the complaint is that the base model GX does not come with programmable memory seats. It's a Lexus. Some of Toyota's product segmentation options really baffles the mind on these two vehicles.

Back to the topic of the post! I installed my drivers side visor today. Very easy install and solves one of my complaints with the car. Great find and write up for the OP.

Thanks for posting this. I drive into the sun on the way in most mornings and same on the way home considering I get home before dark. The sun visors on the LC250 BLOW. Looks to be my next purchase. Thanks again

Has anyone thought about 3D printing a spacer between the mount and the headliner? I think 1/2in would bring it down on the sides to clear the OS handles. One could also make it different angles so it could be aimed to be more effective.

Just swapped mine and it is such a worthwhile upgrade, thanks for the idea! Had a bit of trouble sourcing the driver's side but eventually managed to get both. Would recommend as a must upgrade to all.

I’m still debating it. I wish even with the swap, it extended a few more inches further back. Either way I have UV protection from the tint on my side windows

This is a cool swap, but I have a weird affinity for the LC’s chunky, plastic homage to the vibe I bought into with my 1958, visors. Much like the Rav4 volume knobs that are overwhelmingly well received (for the record, I think those look Temu in the worst kind of way) I can’t get over the subtle color difference in these visors either. I just can’t kill the vibe for something a good pair of sunglasses fixes at no sacrifice.

That's fair, I will admit the GX550 visors being a softer cloth feel less rugged than the factory LC250 ones. Not so much that I wouldn't do the swap again in a heartbeat. Maybe a follow up project is to see if we can take the sliding guts of the GX visor and jam them into our factory takeoffs?
