Fog Light Upgrade/Replacement

I need to do some digging to see if the wiring harness for the factory Rigid lights is behind the switch blank on mine.

Did you ever find out if the wiring is the same? Are the Rigid ones (albeit pricey) plug-n-play options?

No the wiring is not the same. I ended up getting the Diode Dynamics Fog Lights.

The Baja S1 were just plug and play. Fog light should normally be plug & play I guess. For me it was easy. Minor Gap between the S1 and the body. Thats ok

Did you wire up the amber backlit function for the fogs? If so, where did you tap into?

Yes I have all my amber DRL’s wired up to one 5amp location on my Auxbeam. With all them on it looks like this.

Looks killer, I just installed the fogs on mine. A bit surprised they lack adjustment, I don't think they're aimed too high, but honestly unsure from a quick drive around the block. Have you had any issues with people flashing you with the fogs on? Might be overthinking it lol

Nope no issues. They are about the same height or maybe a little lower then factory.

What bracket did you use to mount them?

I customised a 1 inch plate and bolted behind the body of the Fog Light as thst become a holder to the OEM setup. Pretty firm

SSC1 to OEM, I would say Heaven & Earth difference. One for Engineered in US & Amazing Build Quality, has a got a factory style bezel and clean look.
OEM is reliable but def NOT optimised for off- road or High Performance use and very standard beam not well cut.
SSC1 has got a pretty wide beam spread. and its TIR optics is really distintive, less glare. And If I am not sure it is the brightest pods ever when u compare with any industry brand. One advantage is the 3D printed Bracket and the adaptors they provide. Typical remove OEM and install.Watch this for comparision

I put the DD SSC1 fog lights on my 1985 and they are a lot brighter. Now keep in mind I didn't have the Rigid fog lights so I can't say anything about how they compare to them.

In the ME region, you seldom get DD SSC1 and the price even if sold are heavily marked up. I installed BAJA S1 as the teplacement for the OEM Fog lights and additional setup Baja S8 Fogs on the lower part of the Front Grill. I havent taken a night pic on the fog light, But S8(Range Distance was over 3000mtrs) & S1 Fog front shot . here are both to give u rough idea. .

The support which come with the Baja. a small modification if you have a vice. a bit of bend and use in the same OEM zone
