First Edition Mudflaps

I installed the Easycars flaps today.

The rears mounted on directly, no problem.

For the front ones, I think I understand the trimming that @AKK-LC250 was talking about, but I was able to install them without doing any trimming.

This is what the front flap looks like, post-install, without any trimming.

The offending piece that I believe you would need to trim the flap around is this, I think:

It only sticks out about a half inch though, and the mounting screws / clip for the front flap are all on the other piece, so if you can mentally deal with the fact that there's a bit of pressure pushing the flap away and it's not sitting perfectly flat, then you don't need to trim at all.

Great clarification. If anyone w/1st edition could post a photo of how the front mud guards affix to the wheel well I’d appreciate it. I assume these are just a different OEM trim cut to get around this extruding piece in the wheel well and fit snug and cleanly. Thx

Just realized I forgot to post a photo!
Outstanding. I was literally just looking at those flaps this afternoon online.
I haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
Sounds like they went on well.
How do they look?

It would be cool if I can just find the rear only mud flaps for LC. You have to buy 4. Bummer

That would cut the price down a bit. And frankly, the rear is the most visible part.

Noticed these are selling on eBay now from multiple Japanese sellers, and price coming down into the $350 range with free shipping. Just purchased a set and will follow up with experience... Hope to receive before Christmas road/ski trip to NM! Here's a link to the one I purchased, but there are a few very similar sellers carrying them... (I'm not affiliated with eBay, but apparently the forum is :)

Good news. Would you happen to have a link for an ebay seller? Appreciate it.

Finally got around to installing these and am pleased with the result!

I just used the factory flaps to trace onto the JDM flaps and then cut them carefully using a acrylic scoring knife.

I wasnt wanting to spend upwards of $400 on mud flaps.. so took a chance and ordered these:

If I am looking at the pictures correctly, these even have a small bump out intead of the spot where the JDM ones need to be trimmed?
I will update after arrival and install...

I think they fit perfectly. In fact, I’m keeping the fronts on for now.

Ir is puzzling that the JDM mudflaps are different. Does anybody know exactly what necessitates the differences? It would seem that US/Japan versions should be identical around that area

It is not uncommon for different markets to have different sensitivities to NVH (with the American market generally among the most sensitive.) I could see there differences in the molded fiber wheel liners between markets to accommodate NVH tolerances and/or different drivetrain/safety sensor layouts .

[For context I used to work in design and manufacturing engineering at Honda]

Excuse my ignorance but can you elucidate the meaning of the acronym NVH? Thx.

The only thing is the front ones need to be trimmed. These are for the japanese market and they don't fit exactly the same. Fortunately, I just took a First Edition one and traced it, then trimmed. Perfect fitment and they reuse the factory hardware.
Hello.
What's the difference in the front? How do I understand if I need Japanese or US version?
I have a FE trim that is not equipped with FE plaps🤦. Just regular plastic.
So my idea is to order FE flaps but don't know where to order...
I want with a FIRST EDITION logo don't know where to find them as these flaps are not for our market. Can anyone pm a US FE vin?

I don’t believe you can get First Edition splash guards anymore.
