Drove the wheels off a Honda Fit and Toyota Prius PHEV. Had them for 10+ years and were abused by several teenage drivers as their first vehicle and amazingly never had a single issue.
Have owned multiple Porsche SUVs. Absokutely wonderful vehicles but have regular issues ranging from defective U-joints to bad speakers. Plus regular maintenance and consumables like brake pads are a killer. Also DIY often require expensive special tools.
As the old addage goes, buy Japanese and lease European and you won't go wrong.
