I have a little over 1gb worth of music on my iPhone in Apple Lossless. The last long drive I did (17 1/2 hours straight through stopping only for gas and coffee) I never heard the same song twice. I add to the library occasionally, have room for more than I care to pack around with me. Every now & then I'll search for a track and realize I have yet to sync it onto my phone.
It has be more than 1 GB... that's only about 3ish hours of music at lossless quality.

I plan to go to a NAS system and put all my music on it. I can then copy from that to something to play it with that’s portable ….not sure what? Maybe use my phone when needed? But the main plan with the NAS is to connect via phone/Starlink back to it and stream directly from the NAS when on the road. Been reading a little bit on it and they say it’s doable. Not going to be happening anytime soon through. Need to get the MAC and burn some to portable drive have.
I have my entire music collection on my NAS, and then have a Navidrome server setup to play it back on my phone (or where ever), sorta like my own personally-managed Spotify that I control. I use the Symfonium app on my phone which is Android Auto compatible, and it works great...but a solution like this does require a bit of technical know-how.

If you are talking about .wav files sure. Unlike lossy file types (I'm looking at YOU .mp3 files), Apple Lossless compresses the music files more like a zipped file and unzips them to full size on playback. The majority of my music library is encoded in Apple Lossless on my computer, something like 116gb at that reduced size.
