All,

I could swear I'd already seen multiple mentions of this issue on this site in the past but can't seem to find any now. Anyway, after driving at highway speeds (70+) for prolonged periods, a very annoying "crackly" sound starts popping up on the passenger side of the vehicle. It seems to be worse as I pass large trucks which leads me to believe that it is related to wind and gets exacerbated by the gusts coming off the trucks. It is NOT your typical howling or harmonics wind noise caused by the roof rack or anything like that. I do have a lightbar installed on the Prinsu rack and ran the wire up the passenger side of the windshield but the noise was present before I put that wire there.

I've posted a video to YouTube where you can hear the crackling/rattling noise, particularly as I pass a large truck.

Anyone else have this issue?

mine has this too. passenger side a pillar. especially noticeable if there is a decent crosswind or headwind on the highway

Might be a long shot but..... have you tried turning off the noise cancelling feature? I had something similar happen and it went away when I turned off the feature. (the crackling was coming out of the speakers)

interesting thought. i don't recall seeing this in the menu. is it in the center screen?

It's been a minute but I think I used my diagnostic computer to turn the valve to "zero", once I determined it wasn't something actually breaking, I put it back to the orig setting.

I'll try that if I can. Any suggestions on an inexpensive diagnostic tool that would work for this?

Are you referring to a laptop running the TIS software that you hook up through the OBD II port? I had that for my LX570 (200 series) but wasn't sure if the same kind of setup was available for the 250.

Several years back, I had the TIS laptop clone thing and it worked ok but was kind of a pain as it was someone's license etc.... legal I suppose, but I was uncomfortable and bought an Autel Maxi sys. It's not on the cheap side tho'

I would purchase the TIS laptop and use that, if the annual subscription wasn't soooooo expensive.

Mine has this too. A couple weeks ago going through Kansas with high winds it was very noticeable. I had my friend drive while I was in the passenger seat and then it sounded like it was coming from the driver side a pillar which was weird because when driving it sounds like it comes from the passenger side. I can confirm it only happens around 70+ mph and is exacerbated with high winds.

Have you @BigMF or @grapemustard had any luck with the ANC? I have a Carista and you can use it to disable the ANC but I don’t want to pay the $15 to be able to use the app for a month if I don’t have to.

Just throwing this out there - I have had issues in the past with vehicles that don't have wiper wells, at high speeds the wiper blades can vibrate against the windshield (wind lift).

@crow_enjoyer, I paid for the Carista app to disable the ANC. I cannot yet tell you if that resolved the issue. I've only been out on the interstate at 70+MPH twice and only for short periods of time and didn't hear it. However, if I recall from the last time I heard it, it took a while for the noise to present itself for some reason. I've also got a bunch of stuff attached to my roof rack currently which is obviously changing the aerodynamics around the truck and that could be changing something just enough.

I'm leaving Thursday (3/21) for a 18 hour drive to Texas. I'm hoping and praying the noise is gone. If it does NOT appear after driving for a while, I'll play around with turning the ANC back on as a control test. I'll come back and let y'all know the results.

Hey Team,

Has anyone already disassembled the A-pillar?
Any videos or tips on how to safely remove it?

There’s an airbag in there, so I’m a bit concerned...

Thanks!!!
