Car Camping Solution

Well, I just got my goose gear rear plate system and I have to agree. I have four main issues and am thoroughly disappointed.

1. My rear foundation plate was made incorrectly, half the holes have the threaded inserts and cutouts on one side and half have them on the other side when they are all supposed to be on the same side in their install instructions. I am waiting for them to contact me back about this because I literally cannot install it without this part being remade.

2. One of the side wings is also the wrong size, I literally have a half inch gap from the side trim to the goose gear wing board when it is supposed to be flush.

3. Two of my pieces are very warped. One of them has a 1/2 inch warp/twist over a 3.5 foot span.

4. Some of my aluminum spacers have notable sharp shards hanging off them. Easy enough to clip off and sand down quickly but for this price you should not have to do this.

Additionally their install instructions show the t track already being installed on the main base plate but two of mine were not installed. To install them I had to uninstall some of the pre-installed t tracks to get it in place. I am sure the person making mine forgot this piece and decided they didn’t want to undo their work to put this piece on so they just tossed it in the box with the hardware. Normally I would not even mention this because it took me five minutes to fix, but at this point I am stunned by the poor quality of the product and experience.

I have two friends with goose gear installs in their jeeps (from years ago) and they are of great quality, they were stunned to see all the issues my kit has. I have to wonder if quality control or quality in general has tanked with Goose Gear.

I will update when I hear back from them.
I recall mine also had a T track or two that I had to affix myself. Weird.

With everything now assembled and the frustration months behind me, I’m fairly happy with the plate system. It’s very clean looking, and the compartments in the seat delete system can be left without dividers for max storage space or use the dividers and have better organization.

I live in this full time when I’m not on assignment. Last project is a screen for the hatch and rear windows that isn’t sock-style

What size/make of fridge are you running there? This looks like a great setup!

How would you like to be having these problems with Wescott gear and having to deal with that retard and his really bad attitude? Westcott really cooked their collective gooses with the anti hate hate video. Well done fools.
