AUX switches?

Ok thanks mine are working the same. I was thinking they used to be on all the time before I installed the aux switch?

I’m going to disconnect it to see if anything changes.

Got bored and was doing nothing so I tested it.

The CH4X4 lights are dimmable (Backlight only, not upper LED) but the LC250 is not capable of dimming them as they require about 3.4VDC to reach the OEM level and the OEM dimmer only reduces the voltage by .25VDC. No other wires provide anymore dimming at the OEM switches, for example you have two signal wires on the camera switch (wht and wht/blk) and a constant 5VDC on the solid black and dimmer voltage on the Grn.

So the rheostat I purchased will be required to match OEM dimming capabilities and need to be set at its lowest setting to equal the highest setting on the OEM.

I'll pull power for the accessory switch dimmer from the OEM dimmer and feed the output to the assy switches.

I got a CVR-A3A-003 from Carling Technologies in case anyone else is OCD and has to have a solution it costs around $25.00. I'll mount the new dimmer on the drivers panel under the steering wheel above the OBDII port (out of sight).

A Tundra Rheostat will also work that is what I tested with, 2012 Tundra to be exact which there are two versions of (with and without Optitron gauges), only the cheaper one for without will work as the other uses PWM to automatically dim the gauge cluster via a light sensor.
