Anyone have experience with Bison Gear?

I just installed mine today. I only purchased the shelf alone without any of the other accessories.

Took about 30 mins doing it myself. Happy with it so far.

How much room does the 2nd row occupant have between the bar and the head rest? I see some of you guys have the seat back but is it all the way back in these images? Just want to make sure my family/friends don’t hit their heads. Thanks!!

Maybe this helps visualize, I don't think it is really an issue. Here the seats are pretty reasonably reclined.

Anyone purchase the swing-barrier yet? I'm thinking about that instead of the cheap-o Amazon thing I bought to keep the dogs in the back

Just ordered one. Half the price of what Victory 4x4 is charging and based on the feedback from this thread, quality seems to be there! Excited for the barrier, gotta keep the dog slobber off those nice seats :ROFLMAO:

I also ordered the same with the swing-barrier. Was wondering if the shelf is adjustable for hight. Will find out once it arrives.

Great info - does the shelf rattle around at all? I was thinking of adding one but if it rattles my wife will hate it. THANKS

I drove around with it empty and it didn't rattle.

Then I mounted a fire extinguisher on the underside and it rattles some on gravel & tar and chip roads... It doesn't rattle on pavement.

I'm going to buy some rubber washers this week and see if that helps the problem. The brackets mount directly to the body so any vibrations are transmitted from the body through to the shelf. Any rigid, undampened weight on the shelf will exacerbate them. That's my theory at least.

How much height do you lose by having the shelf? I suppose it's quick enough to remove with hand tools if you keep them in the vehicle

Just to update this, I figured out that the crappy plastic mount for the fire extinguisher was definitely what was rattling.

I added some rubber washers between the Bison shelf mounts and the body, and removed the extinguisher and it’s totally silent back there.

The extinguisher should be kept up front anyway. 😀

This is what I have right now. I mounted some metal and plastic stuff there and the rattling was also annoying me, so I got some molle pouches. No more sounds.
Just did this and it fixed my rattle issue.

For those that have this, what is the measurement from the floor to the bottom of the shelf? Trying to decide if my ruffland kennel would still fit. From the pic that was posted it looks somewhere around 27-28” but can’t tell past that rough estimate from the angle.

Also, Is the rear view mirror view tolerable? Looks like it cuts off a little of the view from what I can tell

I can tolerate the partial restriction of the rear view. There's enough gap below it to see if someone is behind me.

There is about a half inch of vertical adjustment for the tray.
