Just picked up a 2025 LC, only hot air comes out of the vent even if I set it at 16 celsius , then I would turn on the A/C and set it still at 16 and still blowing out warm air. Cold air only starts coming out if I set the temp to LO and A/C on. Its the same over the last 3 days, is this normal or I should bring it into service?

Thanks

If the inside temp is lower than 16c then hot air will blow out. Get the inside really hot and then try to lower the temperature. This should make it blow cold air.

Have the same issue. Mine was working normally until around 3500 miles then turned into a $55k hair dryer. Dealer currently has no fix and is waiting on toyota to get back to them with possible fixes. Probably a good idea to bring it in to the dealer and get the issue logged. Will report back here if/when i hear back from toyota. Until then, enjoy your hair dryer!

Exact same problem, super annoying. Going to bring it up to the dealer in a few weeks.

Same issue here at 5k miles. I’ll call the dealership on Monday.

Maybe a bad temp sensor?

Or way out of calibration. Mine does very similar things.

I just had an oil change and asked them to look at HVAC. The dealer acknowledged that something was not right and opened a ticket with Toyota. They “reset” the system and it was doing the same thing. They then checked three other new LC on the lot and they all did the same thing. Service guy said maybe because of the cold temp right now (mid 20s F) the system was trying to compensate. I hope as the weather warms up it improves. At least they reported it to Toyota.

I think this is a bug on Toyota. I get that too when it's cold out. Gotta go to LO for cool air or roll the window down.
I didn't think of it much until I read this post.

I’m experiencing the same thing too-seems like it’s blowing far too hot for the set temperature. That being said it cools down when I put it really low. I’m sure it just has to do with the calibration of the settings and the temperature sensor location

These are built to move air to match the temperature you pick. They aren’t like the old ones where there’s a knob that points to blue if you turn it one way and red the other.

What I think happened with you guys is it got cold out. And the car began to interpret the same temperature goal setting you always had as requiring heat now, versus cold.

If you have the car set at 68 degrees and it’s 38 outside it’s going to blow heat. If you have it at 68 degrees and it’s 92 outside, it will blow cold.

Good luck.

What would the blow situation be if it's 69 inside ?

I believe that too, but compared to other vehicles I’ve owned, Toyota vehicles, the behavior in cold weather is noticeably different, on the hot side of things.

Where I’d generally keep the heat set at 68-70F in other vehicles, that’s way too hot in the LC, and I’ve been keeping mine set at around 62-64

It’s not an issue for me, as long as the A/C also works in the summer time and keeps me cool, but I did have to go through a trial and error period with the LC’s temp calibration.

I have to set the temp fairly low like 65 degrees (air conditioning button off) for it to stop blowing hot air. The temps outside have been 28-38 degrees. I thought it was just a quirk of the vehicle. I can just keep the temp at 70 in my LR4 and it’s perfectly comfortable. If I set the temp at 70 in the LC I’m roasting.

The air conditioning was fine in the summer, no complaints.

how do you change the temperature unit into celsius? mine only has F and I can not change it. Is this because I am in the U.S not Canada?
