So, my 2025 Land Cruiser is 2 weeks old. The side windows for the driver and passenger side are not tinted. What's the pros and cons? Do you think tinting cuts down significant clarity for the side mirrors?

ceramic tint will greatly reduce ir and uv. if you are concerned about being too dark they make very light tint as well. cutting down ir reduces heat and easier for your ac to maintain a comfortable temp at a lower fan speed. cutting back uv is good for your skin as well as your interior from degrading.

I am fully tinted all around 15% (correction) ceramic. I have adequate low light vision and is not a safety issue for me. So for safety purposes, it depends on your own ability to see at night.

Window tint is the correct choice.

Cuts down on glare, and rejects heat and UV. Helps the interior materials last longer.

Not the best photo but this is Llumar ceramic film. 30% on the front windows, and 80% (nearly clear) on all rear glass that already has factory privacy glass. They match very very closely.

any tint on the front side windows makes it very difficult to see at night, especially in dark areas. would recommend against it.

I have 25% ceramic tint on the front side glasses (legal limit here), and approximately 18% on the back doors and rear - our back legal limit is lower and he used the film he had to make sure he was at least above that limit without a meter. I got it done right before I went on an 8hr trip one way on vacation on one of the hottest days we have had this year so far. I am not sure we could have handled the trip without it as we still had a difficult time keeping the vehicle cool for my dog! This is the first vehicle I have had with ceramic and it reduces the heat much better than the regular tint film. I wish it was legal to lightly tint the front glass - but it is not allowed here - so I have a dark eyebrow to help with sun glare. I have not had any issues driving or seeing streets at night. I do have a friend that has 5% all the way around that says he has to roll down his windows to see streets in areas he is not familiar with.

Every car I’ve ever owned, I go straight to my tint guy from the dealership. No exception with my LC. I always just match the back windows. To me, matching the back windows I feel gives you a perfect balance of looks and visibility. You’ll be able to see fine in any conditions if you don’t go darker than the back windows. Tint it up !

I couldn't live without tint. I went with ceramic 20% on the driver's/pax windows and had them do their best to match the rest of the windows (they came out to roughly 15%), I also had the clear stuff put on the windshield.

This is an excellent summary. I suffer from Skin Cancer issues. I also know the physics on how eyes work and the more light that gets through the glass the better you see, especially as you get old. So I get max uv protection and no more IR .. by the way the Land Cruiser has good UV protection from the get go.. I got an UV meter and measured mine ..

Is the clear a ceramic?

do you know what percent is the factory installed rear windows?
My tint shop used 20% to match the rear. Looks perfect on mine. A lot of people say 30%, but the difference is negligible, especially when looking through the car and the light you see is what’s coming through the driver’s window after going through the passenger’s window first.
